Lamisil and how it works?

I want anyone to give me their opinions on Lamisil. How does it work? How long does it take? Is it effective? Any comments about Lamisil? I am talking about the prescibed pill too.

I tried the pill and it works. Nothing else would work. Lamisil in cream is not better than other treatments. However, it is important that you continue taking your pills for the entire prescribed period, even if the symptoms have disappeared because it will come back. It did not take a year for my nails to get back to normal, only a few months, but this may vary from one person to another. I had no side effects, but in some cases it is counter indicated. You should discuss with your doctor.

It takes about 6 months for it to completely work. I used it and it did make my toe nails feel better. The yellow discoloration in your toenails has to grow out though. That process will take about 6 months. Its a good med and is better and more effective than the creams or sprays that you buy at drug stores. Good luck

I never took it but went to an inservice given by the drug reps at work, it takes a year of taking the pill daily to get rid of whatever fungus you have

patients usually go the alternative medicine route and get something called delinolate, not sure how it's spelled but they found out about it by listening to the aware show by lisa garr on kpfk.org, a radio station which streams live on the web

Lamisil is an anit-fungal treatment. Usually for nail fungus. You will need to take one pill daily for three months; if nail fungus is the issue. It is very effective but may take up to one year for the new nail to replace the discolored, flaky nail.

Basically, the pill provides for a systemic treatment for the problem working from the inside out. Topical treatments are not strong enough to get to the root of the problem.

It is very expensive in the US. Can be purchased online from Canada at a significant savings.
