8 months pregnant and very breathless?
I uesed to smoke but gave up as soon as I found out I was pregnant. Over the last month I have become really breathless and when I wake up in the morning it sometimes feels like I have smoked 100 cigarettes! Is this because my lungs have been pushed up and squashed so much?

it's normal, just take it easy when you get up and allow yourself to catch some breathe. Good luck and congrats.

it is exactly because the baby is squashing up against everything now, i hd the same prob and went to docs they gave me an inhaler which gave temporary relief but it wasn't very good. you've only got a month left anyway although sorry to say it will drag. congrats and good luck x

Sounds like it to me. Everything gets squashed in the last month of pregnancy. Congratulations on giving up smoking. If you are worried just speak to the midwife.

Oh I know what you mean, but everythings fine! I remember seeing this diagram of what happens to all the mothers organs when you are near the end of your pregnancy, and it's no wonder we feel out of breath! EVERYTHING is squished!
Everyone is the same, but if it's bothering you, just let your doc know next time you have an appoinment!
Congrats and all the best!

Yep it's a bit scary but normal i reckon( happened to me with my first huge baby, second one was smaller and it wasn't as uncomfortable), not long to go though eh?! blessings for the big day.

it may be because of your weight gain, carrying a baby as well as placenta and water is hard work!!
you deserve a medal x x x

that is totally normal. its from your growing belly and should go away once you drop

I had the same experience too. I never smoked, so I dont think it was from smoking. The OB told me it,s because my torso is short and he baby was high up that he pushed the lungs ans everything.
So I don't think you have to worry at all, unless you suddenly pass out or something.
