Beads for wedding centerpieces?

I am using glass vases with floating candles and glass beads on the bottom as my centerpieces for my wedding. I have one problem, the beads cost alot of money and i need at least 2 - 1lb bags per centerpiece. Right now, they cost about 7 dollars a bag and that is going to be very pricey just for some centerpieces lol
Does anyone else have any ideas as to what i can use??

I am going to put a light in the bottom to illuminate the beads but i need enough to cover the light, its a glow stick, so its not so big, but its also not so small.

Thank you for any ideas and suggestions :)

Additional Details

I like the foam idea on the bottom, b/c then i wouldn't need as many beads and i can cover the bottom with a bow or something to that effect. Thanks so much! Good ideas

I like the marbles idea...you could also stick with your beads idea and put a piece of styrofoam in the vase (to take up room) then add the beads- that should cut down on the amount you would need.
