Is it true that rain on your wedding day is a sign of good luck?

the forecast is calling for thunderstorms on saturday (my wedding day) and at first i was devastated. then i was talking to one of my bridesmaids and she told me she heard that rain on your wedding day is a sign of good luck.

on my wedding day, we had a few drops and everyone said "thats good luck" and "gods planting seeds" so i thinki so if u believe!

I don't know! It rained on the day of our civil ceremony, but the raindrops never touched us. We could see it to the West, and one of the photos that we took in color looks like it's in black and white, thanks to the overcast horizon.
Do you think it's an omen if it rains on the day of our formal ceremony too?

I have heard it both ways. Some say it is a sign of good luck then others say it represents the tears the bride will cry during the marriage. I say that you make it what you want, think of it as good luck no matter what happens. Have a great time at your wedding rain or shine. Congrats!!!

i don't know... never heard that one, but either way i wish you good luck because thats rough i would be upset too if it rained on my wedding day! but you can't control the weather, you just have to go with it and not let it ruin your day!

Actually it has been known to go both ways...

The good superstition: There will plenty of rain for crops.

The bad superstition: The bride will have a tearful and sorrowful marriage.

So take it as how you'd like to!
