The electricity in New York and Miami is 120 volts, 60 Hz.

If the label on your mac indicates that it works with this frequency and voltage, then you need only a new power cord to make it fit the outlet.

If the label indicates that it works with this frequency (60 Hz) but requires a different voltage (more than 130 volts), then you need a transformer.

In the U.S., 50 Hz is not widely available.
