Why from PAS point of view, Western culture will corrupt Malaysian mind does it. What is their justification?

Because that is what we are being bombarded about Western culture in Malaysia, those thing that you mention happened all around the world.You cannot gauge a person holiness just by his/her dressing just because if she cover her body from hair to toe doesn't mean she is holy compare to the person that dress in bikini.Not all Western culture. What is so good about Arabic culture compare to Western culture

You can shelter your child from everything and everyone and teach them ideals, dreams and fantasies different from the whole world.
But once you are dead or your child have left his nest to the wide wide world you are throwing a lamb to a wolf.

Better to bring up a child with respect, decency, self-restraint and discipline, intelligence and awareness of the world around him to be able to make smart choices in life while respecting others to make their own choices.
They grow up to become better people, better religious integrity, better parents.

Its true that how you look doesn't reflect who you are as a person and believer.
Its also very hypocritical to say EVERYTHING about the Western world is bad.
We live within all modern inventions and concepts CREATED and ADAPTED by Western people.
Its like living on a pig farm and selling pigs to earn a living and then saying that people who eat pork are evil and sinful.

Any culture can be made bad by the people living within them. Every culture has its pros and its cons.
The key is to find a proper balance.

Look at Arab cultures - some of their cultures are very barbaric and backwards. Are you going to follow that too?
Many Malay Muslims don't realise that following Arab culture doesn't make you better Muslim - follow ISLAMIC culture is what makes you a better Muslim.

Many Arabs practice total female circumcision (cut and sewing up entire genitals), honour killings and other cultural things.
Is it still superior to other cultures?

Religion is religion. Culture is culture. Don't misinterpret the two.


To the person above who said everything about the West is immoral.
Well lets' stop practising democracy, freedom of religion, speech and pursuit of happiness.

If someone tell you to walk off a cliff and laughs at you because you refuse to walk - are you going to feel resentful and angry that you refused, or are you confident in your own decisions because you know that what you are doing is right?

Just because in the Western culture TODAY everything seems very immoral doesn't mean you should be.
The West is a fast-paced, fast changing society. Just a hundred years or more ago women covered from neck to toe and wore head covering as a norm in the U.S and U.K.
Perhaps tomorrow they will be better believers than us.
How do you know?
We should never be quick to judge other people.

There are many very moralistic and decent people in the West who practice their religion even better than people in Malaysia/Singapore/SE-Asia despite all the sin surrounding them.
Does that make them better believers?
Take it as a challenge and don't push away a test from God.

They are funny bloke without self confidence. Do they even know that our greatest enemy is our own-self and not others?

I am Javanese kampong-boy, Chinese/English educated, spent 16 years abroad. I maybe a little open-minded but yet still very much conservative when comes to culture and religion. I know who am i and not let others change what i am.

Nobody can influence us unless we let them to. If we dont instill a strong eastern culture to our children, their lifestyles will still evolve with or without the influence of western cultures.

PAS is aware what has happen in the country you gave for example. western culture such as unmarried couple staying together, changing sex partner, gay, lesbian,
thats some example the damage if we comsume some of they culture.
in healthier words, PAS don't want HIV/AIDS/STD/ADD to spread more.
unless you want your self, your child life around sick people, PAS 1,400 years mindset will be a joke for you. we'll see who will laugh in the end of the day.

i am somehow agree with the saint. but what i'm saying isn't a political-based opinion either.

u won't see the destroyment, the ruins of the damaged, young generation as to date. next generation will inherited the impact of this not-so-good culture. and of course, all those bad things (and good things as well) happen for a reason. sure enough we dont want ourselves to be blame as the reason of wreckage of our next generation.

The truth is every detail about the behaviors of society in the Western nations was on point. The Americans and all of western nations have this epidemic where morality is a disease and who ever shows a little moral behavior is looked at as someone who needs help, so when the Americans or Western world lectures about how one should live in society they should be laugh at and mocked, because they are a JOKE & western youth are bringing nothing but downfall as baby boomers retire. As for boy/girl separation it may not be in EXACT, but there certainly are wide-range gov. sponsored programs to remove early teen pregnancies, calling for less physical involvement between young relationships. Check C-span channel for such kind of news issued by gov't officials open-end talks & raising issues facing USA.

*South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong aren't flowing the ways of how western culture are living you may think this because the media only shows what the poeple want & not the truth side, I frequently fly to Hong Kong & Taiwan & I don't see that they behave how the western people do & for Singapore youth they have been brained wash by their own government allowing so many unnecessary concert also to mush exposed on American life by thinking their are part of western country country such ashamed not to have their own identity!
