In Denmark, we have freedom of speech, which is both good and bad (an example of bad, was the cartoons of the prophet Mohamed, which most of the Danish people are embarrassed about, because it was very disrespectful towards a lot of peoples personal religion).

When it comes our Royal family, we can say what we want to - it is allowed.

The Royal family knows it, and accepts it, because they are for the fact that Danish people are free, and expected to express themselves.

A few years ago, the Royal family hosted a big party, where a lot of Danish entertainers were booked to entertain the guests - one of the Danish Queen's first choices were an actor/singer/comedian who very often makes really funny impressions of her - and she personally asked that he could come and do - among others - one of his
"Queen impressions". It is very typical Danish sense of humor. We don't mind laughing at our own expense.

In general, i think that most people respect our royal family, and are proud that we have a Queen that is modern, and allows her family to life "modern" lives.

We accept and respect that they all actually take part in trying to make things better, with getting peoples attention to things that could be better, and that they also try to live as normal lives as possible - that is also something they pass on to he children, who all go to ordinary Danish schools /kinder gardens.
