What can i put on my 2 week old dry skin?
hello. 2 weeks ago i had my baby and before i left the hospital they did a bathing demo and was told not to put anything on baby's skin for the first 6 weeks, wash with plain water etc. I did listen and followed the instructions but my baby's skin is miserably dry, is there something safe i can put on her after bath or something?
thanks

It's normal for baby's skin to be dry in the weeks following birth. Unless it is cracked and bleeding, you don't need to do anything. If it's cracked, you can put olive oil on it.
Don't put Johnson's products on it. Baby's skin is stil very permeable and Johnson's products are full of chemicals and perfumes.

My hospital told me the same and my daughter's skin was really bad for week's especially in the first couple of week's, i asked my midwife who visited me in the 10day's after birth who suggested grape seed oil. It's natural and it really work's i use it now on myself. You need to avoid hand's and going near eyes, mouth and nose, but that wasn't a problem for me. I used it after her bath's and it helped so much.

I live in Colorado (0% Humidity) so my daughters skin was sooooo dry that I took her to the Doctor because none of that Johnson's or Aveeno baby lotion stuff worked. She told me to get Cetaphacil. (It's with the adult lotions at grocery stores and Walmart) It's free of Perfume & Dyes and is safe for newborns. It works! I love it!!

I was told that too Its because you don't know what they are allergic to. What i did was use baby lotion by Johnson in pink bottle i put a little dot on my son arm to see if he was allergic for a day when he showed no signs i used the lotion

Yes honey - Congratulations!
Any of the Johnson's Baby Products should be safe for your newborn. You can also try a dab of Bacitracin Ointment as well. God Bless

olive oil is very good for a babys dry skin just a small amount, its unperfumed and pure also.
