PCanywhere, routers, and Airport Express?

Question

I already have a linksys router, but when I connect it to my modem, my mom's accountant can't connect through PC anywhere. For this reason, I can't have my router connected. Two questions:

1) Is there a way that I can get my router to let PCanywhere work?
2)Does an airport express (from apple) actually make it's own network or does it have to work off another one?

The apple express just extends your network, it doesn't create a new one. We have 3 airport expresses and 1 airport extreme (router/base station) in our house because it so big, and you can't get high signal strength in all parts of the house.
