• Laptops needing extra care around swamp coolers?

A laptop will have a spec about operating humidity. Using a swamp cooler keeps the humidity very high. While it may not have directly fried the old laptop, it could have certainly contributed to the demise of said system. Humidity causes corrosion, and corrosion is bad. • How can I connect 3 or more Bluetooth speakers to play the same song simultaneously.. PS they may be of different brands?

Best answer: There is a brand that allows 2 speakers to be connected to one another, with one connected to your device. To get 3 going at once, it would require that your device be able to send the signal to multiple Bluetooth devices simultaneously. I don't know of any that will, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. The brand I have... show more

I don't know of any that will, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. The brand I have is BEM, comes in a package of 2, and both will play at the same time off one signal. Since the signal is not split as stereo between them, in most cases it sounds like crap when you do this.

  • Can my IP address be corrupt?

A corrupt IP will simply not work. You say you have tried to change it multiple times, but WHY are you trying to change it, and WHERE is the address coming from? If this is the IP assigned to you by your service provider, changing it would break the service.

Just about any iron the market can press patches, but they won't hold worth crap on leather. You really need to have them sewn on rather than ironed on.

  • Canon EOS 70D won't turn on?

Last time I dealt with Canon repair, it was a flat fee of $200 just to look at the device. The $200 would then be applied to any repair cost, of course you pay the difference if it is more (and it will be). If you have a local repair shop, you might get a better price, but there aren't a lot of local shops that can repair a DSLR. show more

A (plastic, not glass) bottle, such as a 2-liter soda bottle, will act as a low-grade silencer at a distance. You need a larger bottle to make it work, a small soda bottle wouldn't have much of any effect on the sound. A glass bottle would possibly change the trajectory of the bullet, may very well explode into a thousand fragments of high-speed glass, and would leave a mess behind for investigators to find.

  • Why do people ruin a perfectly good whiskey on the rocks by mixing it with a soft drink?

If they add something else, like soda, then it isn't whisky on the rocks any more, now is it? Not a huge fan of whiskey or whisky, but when I do indulge I prefer straight shots without watering down said whisky or whiskey.

  • Why do expert fiction writers often give conflicting and contradictory advice to novice writers?

Because what works for one may not work for the other. Things change. You forget to tie up a sub-plot. If you "go with the flow" as you write, with only a vague idea of where you are going or how to get there, then rewriting entire chapters is a much higher possibility.

  • I work in the HVAC field. The owners are changing. Can a new owner force someone to work Christmas Day?

You are an employee, not a slave. Your boss cannot "force" you to do anything. He pays you to do a job. He sets the days he needs you to do that job. If that includes Christmas, so be it. If this causes you distress, you one and only recourse is to find employment with another boss that doesn't require you to work on Christmas. show more

  • Is it legal for a 20 year old man to have a consensual sexual relationship with a 14 year old girl in Missouri?

Best answer: A 14 year old cannot legally give consent to begin with, so your question is moot. A 20 year old in a sexual relationship with a 14 year old is looking at prison time, even in those counties (Jackson and St Louis at the top of the list) that don't prosecute most crimes.

Lucky for us, the 2nd Amendment does not have the word "need" in it at all. There is no requirement to show a "need" to own a firearm. If you wish to do so, it is your right.
