  • Politics: Why don't liberals ever stop to think about how rich people feel about paying taxes?

Say, for example, that you're the CEO of a large corporation and make a salary of $100 million a year. If liberals had their way, only about $50 million would be left over after paying taxes. You'd have to scale back on how many yachts you owned on each continent, and postpone your purchase of a new private jet. And you wouldn't be happy... show more

You'd have to scale back on how many yachts you owned on each continent, and postpone your purchase of a new private jet. And you wouldn't be happy that you had to pay all these taxes. Liberals argue that the revenue could be used to pay down the national debt, or provide better education for a million children by taxing one really rich person. Well, true, but did you ever think about this from the point of view of the rich?

  • Was I right to be offended that he called me a slob?

One of the reasons that my least favorite ex and I broke up was that he was constantly insulting how clean I kept my apartment. We never lived together, but he was always calling me a slob. One time, I remember I was on my hands and knees picking up clothes and trash on the floor, while he yelled at me. He told all his friends what a slob I was, as well as his parents. His parents then told everyone what a slob I was, too. One time, he made me hire a maid to clean my apartment, which cost me $100. And likewise, he was always telling me that if he was my landlord, he'd kick me out. No, I'm not a perfect housekeeper, but I found it so insulting to constantly be told what a slob I was. And the thing is, I DO try. I would always clean before he came over, but it apparently wasn't good enough. Was I right to be offended? I'm not saying I'm a neat freak, but I take pride in where I live. And like I said, I would always clean before he'd come over. Give me a break. But I guess it's funny if that is my worst trait. Maybe that's why I am now dating an awesome guy who I plan on spending the rest of my life with, while my ex has no boyfriend, no friends and is unemployed. lol

I'm looking for examples in history that came from bad decision making, flawed reasoning, illogical, etc that ended up working out pretty well. Things people did for bad reasons, like greed, jealousy, a woman, competition, pride, etc but worked out well for the world in some way. Anything would be great. Thanks.

  • Can the answer to all our problems in the U.S. be as simple as this?

I like to get some feedback from others on this. I believe that we have all these economical, social, and other problems in the U.S. because we make everything difficult for ourselves. I think most people in this country are Alpha people, people who want to be leaders and that's why we complicate everything we do. As an example: it used to be... show more

I think most people in this country are Alpha people, people who want to be leaders and that's why we complicate everything we do. As an example: it used to be easy to start a business in this country, now it's soooo hard. I want to start a simple driving school. I have been working as an instructor for years, have a BA from UCLA and because of the paperwork it is still hard for me to start such a simple business like this. Now if it difficult to realize such easy, simple business, no wonder we are a nation of hopeless people. We have made everything difficult for us, what's next, you need a permit to be a cleaning lady...oh wait you already do in California. What do you all think?

I've never seen a person like that, but I've witnessed this claim made hundreds of times. I've never seen a source to back up this claim, but the claims are made. There's obviously something strange going on when Republicans are seeing something that no one else but them can see. I think this calls for an investigation, anyone else agree? Oh, and by the way, a reliable source is not an opinion piece from a pundit or a youtube video (which can be a prank or a hoax).

  • Hillary Clinton supporters was it ever about the issues?

I'm not looking for angry rants. Just as an observer though Clinton and Obama are more closely united on issues than Mccain could possibly ever be. So when I hear these Clinton supporters voting for Mccain that leads me to ask was it ever about issues. You would seem to be voting against your own interests. Really makes no sense.
