I had plenty of déjà vu experiences like any normal people but I noticed that as I get older, my experiences are becoming more and more vividly accurate. It used to be like, ‘Oh I had this conversation before’. But now…
Recently, I went to visit my half-sister. She had a major renovation in her daughter’s room. Long story make it short, I was up in my niece’s room with my other older niece (she was playing her iPad while lying on the bed). We were talking and brushing her hair while sitting in front of the dresser and suddenly, BAM! The familiar eerie feeling hits me. I realized that I had this conversation with her before except that we never had this conversation ever, until now. I had the feeling that I had seen her room before; the colour of her chair in front of the dresser, the colour of her wall, my niece laying on the bed, her walk-in closet with mirrors as the wall with the lights on and door half open, shape of the bed post, colour and material of the floor. Everything! It was exactly the same to the tee.
However, the weird thing is, I never seen her newly renovated room before nor did I ever see her old room. The last time I talked to her before then was 2 years ago when her family visited. I didn’t add her or my sister on Facebook so I’ve never seen any pictures or description of her room and it takes a two and a half hour flight to where my sister lives. It was legitimately my first time in her room. It was as if I’ve seen it in my dream before and for some reason it happened right then and there.
Most of the time, whenever I dream, it occurs in reality. I had dreamt of faces of strangers and places I never visited. A few months or years later, I met the stranger and felt like I known that person before until I realized that I saw their face in my dreams. Whenever I go on trips and see places for the first time (honest to God), I felt like I’ve been there. I know for sure I’ve never seen pictures or videos of it on TV or on the internet.
What are causing déjà vus? Are there any explanations in terms of science, myth or religion? This is honestly creeping me out, I’m not lying. I get frighten and anxious. My stomach ties in knots whenever these vividly accurate déjà vu occurs. It’s very unsettling for me.
