I'm a retired CPA and I love solving accounting and tax problems. Someone once said "find your passion in life to be fulfilled". I have found mine.

This is from the formula for the PV of an Annuity. PV is 16,200, N is 48, and PMT is 421.85. So the "factor" must be 16,200 / 421.85, or 38.4023.
So 38.4023 = [1 - 1/(1 + r)^48] / r. How can I solve for R? I'm stumped.2 AnswersMathematics6 years ago

Examples: E=MC Squared; the famous PiR Squared; A Squared + B Squared = C Squared. There must be some logic to squaring everything, but I don't get it.2 AnswersMathematics1 decade ago
When I close Outlook Express, a message always pops up saying "To free up disk space, OE can compact messages for me." I did that once, and it emptied my Deleted and Sent folders. Can I still retrieve them? And how can I block that message from coming up all the time? Thanks1 AnswerOther - Yahoo Mail1 decade ago
