This question has been vexing me for many years since I first heard of it in Jr. High. The first electric computers used bi-stable multi vibrator switches made of electromagnetic relay banks. an electrical pulse would turn the first one on, lighting an indicator lamp, a second pulse would turn the first switch(and the lamp) off and turn on the second switch and lamp. A third pulse would turn the first switch on again and a fourth pulse would turn BOTH the first two switches off and turn on a third switch in the series---etc. So an arrangement of a series of these switches would make a digital binary counter.-------Each switch would take a pulse--if it was open, the pulse would close it, if it was already closed the pulse would open it AND send a pulse to the next switch in the series which behaves the same. Ever since I was a kid, I have tried to devise a relay circuit that would do this and failed. It seems that once the pulse closes the first switch, it immediately reconfigures and treats the same pulse as a new pulse ----The duration of the pulse should not matter. Somehow the pulse should NOT further affect the switch until it stops and a new pulse is entered. --- Does anybody know a circuit for an EM switch array that behaves as correctly as the above description says it should?-----Using no artificial delays or other components rather than multi contact relays?

Religion is the most common tool people use to cope with the inevitability of death. What do Atheists use to cope with one's eventual death or extinction? How is that better than the religionist's method? Would not a religionist lead (or be inclined to lead) a more "moral" (if less fun) life?

There only appear to be three kinds of "UFO Aliens" reported, the very human looking "Nords",the "Hairy Dwarfs" and the big eyed "Grays"--with Grays making up over 90% of purported witness reports. LOGICALLY speaking, One would think that each Alien would look different if the report had been simply "made up". We might argue that the "Grey" image is widely dispersed in the public media, and people latch on to that----BUT THIS DID NOT HAPPEN until after 1977 with the Close Encounters of The Third Kind Movie. The art director himself, admits he patterned the CE3 aliens after the reports pryor to the movie. The only logical conclusion we can draw is the witnesses, all over the world (especially the US) all saw the SAME THING---whatever it was. This is no proof that the grays are actual "aliens", but is pretty convincing evidence that SOMETHING having a common origin had been observed.---Hence, what we TAKE to be "Aliens" must exist. What are the realistic possibilities? 1) A large, sophisticated organization is perpetrating a "hoax' of sorts, likely to disguise a secret project and or discredit any witnesses. This suggests a Government-backed operation Using the same "Alien" boogey or dummy to scare and confuse the witnesses. It was a mistake, however, to use the same "Alien" dummy each time. The consistency of the reports lends the witnesses a degree of credibility. 2.) Actual "Aliens" or an unknown "terrestrial" species. It would explain the consistency of the reports, but is an otherwise sort of "out there" explanation. 3) a simple hoax, and/or "untruthful" witnesses. this is even LESS likely than 1 or 2 The scope of the phenomena is much too wide spread, geographically, and would not be as consistent. So what do you think? any other ideas. Discounting Media influence before 1978, of course.

• ### Why do many gay males often dress and/or act as women?

Now I know that most cross dressers are straight, and it is often done for various reasons, such as fetishes, humiliation S/M, identity play, etc., but why the heck would a male interested in OTHER males and manly things want to cross dress? It don't make sense from the homosexual definition of a person who is attracted to the same sex. Yes I have heard the dubious theory that they dress as women to attract other men, but that don't make sense either. Would not looking like a woman be "fishing with the wrong bait" to attract a guy that is attracted to other guys? Going after "straight" men? I would prefer to think that homosexuals are not THAT desperate or stupid. Straight guys do not want sex with other men even if they do look like women. Something is not right here. Can it be that the definition of "homosexual" (a person sexually attracted to another of the same sex) is somewhat in error? Are Gay cross dressers actually transsexuals, identifying with women rather than being simply "Gay"? Or do Gay ccross dressers crossdress for non-sexual reasons as do many hetero cross dressers--eg. "Escapism" or "taboo tripping" highs? Yes, I know that people are individuals, but this stuff seems to be wide spread in the gay community---enough so that it has erroneously become a stereotype of gayness.----does anybody know what is actually going on?

Will we discover anything new in the Future besides more decimal places? Who is smarter--- someone who limits reality to what he thinks he knows or someone who admits not all of reality is known yet or connected to the current Science "chain" of data? Are we supposed to IGNORE perceived or speculative other aspects of the universe that are also real? Are you saying the other fragments of the vase do not exist if you haven't glued them together yet? Theists see more of the universe They have other fragments of the vase (and yes a few shards that don't belong) they also recognize the parts already glued together. Indeed how many Atheists are actually Scientists---or are they putting faith in the theories of others (The Scientists)? ( I am a Scientist myself and I believe in a higher power).
