He bashes me in front of the whole class saying how bad I'm doing but won't give me ANY credit for the things I'm doing well. I get all my work done and even reach out to other students to give and get help. I also work very well with others. There doesn't seem to be a reason fro these attacks but he only does this to me! I have no idea what to do. He talks to me like I'm stupid and like I'm a failure. Then he will move on to another student and tell him how great they are and how they will go places.... I'm working so hard and putting all of my effort into this class. I'm so sad and embarrassed. What the hell do I do?!

  • How can I ask a professor to raise my grade to an A if I am 3.5 points away? low-GPA engineering student worried about employment?

Best answer: The smart thing to do is to let the matter drop. Your post shows that you already understand a simple fact. Professors "don't like grade bargaining." You said it, so please listen to yourself. Your point is that some other student, whose case you know nothing about, appeared to get his grade raised by asking, and you want to achieve the same thing. You assume the grade was raised (I would, too, given what the professor said), but you don't know the reasoning behind it. The professor isn't stupid, and she, too, is aware that she just finished discussing a similar matter with another student before you came in and made your request. If you had been in a similar situation, she would have treated you the same way, simply out of fairness. She didn't, because she sees your situation as substantially different from that of the student who talked to her ahead of you. Don't make an enemy of her by pressing the matter further. You missed the "A" grade by 3.5 points, and while that's understandably disappointing, hounding the professor about it only casts you in the role of a nag, and not only will she not change her mind, she'll be less likely in future to be lenient. Spend your energy on improving your study techniques and strategies so that you are earning the highest possible scores, and "discussions" with the instructor become unnecessary.

  • Is this correct?

I’m in college and final grades came out. I was waiting for a few days for one last grade to be posted, however, I had 2 D’s, 1 A, 1 B, 1 C and my gpa was a 1.95. After the last grade was posted, which was a C, my gpa was still a 1.95. Is that right?

I'm currently doing a Bachelor of Commerce at uni and I've just finished my first year. It really isn't what i thought it would be and I'm not really enjoying myself. I've already failed 2 of my subjects, meaning i will probably have to add another year to my degree. I really don't think this is what i want to do and i have considered changing degrees but there's nothing that really interests me enough to do it. Personally, i really want to leave uni and study a cert 2 and 3 in animal studies at TAFE, and maybe at some stage become a vet as animals is something I'm really passionate about and feel like that would be the perfect career path for me. I was also thinking of volunteering at RSPCA to get some experience while i study (if I do study it). Everyone keeps saying i'll regret dropping out, and that a commerce degree can lead on to a variety of jobs but it just isn't what i thought it'd be, and uni is something that's been causing me a lot of stress and anxiety and i feel its just not suited to me. And i feel like now would be a good time to do it rather than keep going and waste more money only for me to drop out later. What should I do?

Along with economics and law. Liberal arts defines the traditional college curruculi that have existed since the medieval ages. These include the social and physical sciences, mathematics, literature, and philosophy. These were called liberal arts because they were considered necessary arts to master for a learned man. It has nothing to do with being a modern liberal or actual art, though many colleges now include any non-technical degrees and courses in their liberal arts programs. BTW I have a business degree so I am not STEM or liberal arts.

You will have to establish your career as an internationally renowned actor, and then your agent get you a contract to appear in a production in another country, before your producer could apply for your artiste visa. You would only be allowed to remain long enough to complete your role in the production.

A university degree from a reputable & accredited university is accepted as a degree. But that does NOT qualify you for a VISA!

Best answer: Yes, but it isn't likely. Here's why. If you are going to be a community college for a total of four semesters and you take the same number of classes each term, you could get above a 3.0 IF you got a 4.0 for the rest of your time at the community college. Realistically, you've failed every course you took, so it is much more likely that your GPA would be closer to a 2.0 or 3.0 in the successive quarter if you were very, very, very lucky.

    .85 + 4.0 +4.0 + 4.0 = 12.85/4 = 3.2
    .85 + 2.0 + 2.8 + 3.5 = 9.15/4 = 2.28

All you can do now is work as hard as you can to get the best grades you can get in each course and see how it goes. That means going to class and doing your homework every day, and visiting the teachers' office hours if you are having trouble. If you want any chance of even transferring to a university, you probably need to address whatever it is that you spend your time one now instead of school work (video games, etc.).

Over the course of the year I got into three medical schools one being the best school in the caribbean St. George’s University. I wanted to become a doctor since I was 2 and over the year I been working with doctors and they have been teaching me surgery and gynae/onco. I fell more and more in love with the profession after getting to learn so much I appreciated the opportunity and I just can’t seem to give it up. The school I really want to attend is offering me a scholarship to cut 2/3 the tuition but even with the remaining tuition I still can’t afford it sigh. What do I do? I’ve always wanted this in my life I tried banks and even my governments but nothing could be done. It makes me so depressed and idk what to do anymore. You ever wanted something so badly but when u try so hard to get it doors keep closing in front your face? It’s really sad and it makes me cry everytime I honk about having to give it up. I’m running out of time to find solutions. Does anyone have any advice? I’m now 22 now trying to start medical school and I don’t wanna start any later in my life. I’d very much like to study and do my best to help others while I have my youth before I begin slowing down in age later on. Thank for your help.
