  • Will I regret devoting most of my late 20s and early 30s to be a surgeon?

Okay so I’m a 28 year old medical school student and it is my first year in medical school. I have looked into surgery and I really am interested in that field but the thing is I won’t have a life. From what I hear, surgeons get up everyday at 5am and don’t leave the hospitals until about 8pm or so. They have long days and long hours. When will I have time for my family? Or to even make a family since I don’t have one? I also don’t have a girlfriend because I devoted all my early 20s to get into medical school. I worked really hard to be where I am right now.

  • Do you go to a doctor regularly, or believe staying away from doctors will lead to a longer life?

My friend seems jealous that I don't go to doctors, yet I am a healthy retiree. She's been going to doctors for years, getting tested and drugged all the time, yet she is the one walking with a cane, suffering from irregular heartbeat, throat ulcers, etc. Could it be from side effects of all the drugs her... show more

About 4 years ago I was heavily addicted to opiates. I accidently broke off a needle in my arm while doing an injection. I went to the hospital and after much cutting and digging, the ER doctor stated he could not successfully remove it and I would have to see a specialist. So I made an appointment with a specialist and he told me that the needle could just stay there and eventually my body would just push it out. This has yet to happen and Ive just always had this in the back of my mind since I ve been clean. Will this come back to haunt me later in life or was the doctor correct?

Ok, hear me out. I ve tripped several times over the past two months. the first two times I tripped pretty hard off 2 or 3 tabs. However, about 10 days ago I took 6 tabs and didn t even trip. I waited 7 days and took 5 tabs. I tripped, but still not nearly as hard as the first time. Also, my friend who I always trip with claims to have tripped his *** off on the exact same dose even though he has taken acid on the same schedule as me and then some. I believe I have a naturally high tolerance build up to acid. I m thinking of waiting 5 days since this last trip, and then taking 10 tabs to guarantee I trip even harder than my first time. Do you think 10 tabs is too much. Do you have any experience with 10 plus tabs or unusually high tolerance?

My brother drinks too much in my opinion however when I went to the doctors to enquire about his health the doctor told me that unless he had been drinking in the last 48 hours that all a blood or urine test would do is indicate that he had been drinking but not how much he had been drinking, is there any test other than blood or urine that can determine how much he takes? The doctor indicated that even if he drank heavy amounts once it's out the system all a bloody or urine test would do is tell you he had a drink in past few weeks.

  • A temporary fix for an abscess tooth?

Best answer: Take soft foods or liquids, with no chili, spices or condiments. I took spices once at supper when my tooth was with painful caries and could not sleep at night even with all the painkillers. Better safe than sorry.
