I'm 22 and graduating college in May. I've worked several odd jobs and part time positions in the past, however my current part time job as a cook has driven me nigh crazy. I struggle frequently at the job and it doesn't help that my coworkers aren't patient enough to even train me to do basic things. It's a vicious cycle: I struggle at something that they won't teach, I ask for help, I get chastised and so on. My mental health and grades have been declining ever since I started this job 4 months ago. Should I simply quit and not give notice?

compared to how many jobs were created the same period of time in 2016. Is fewer jobs being created what he means by "Make America Great Again"?

  • What’s an occupation that’s a lot more difficult than people think it is?

Best answer: Working in a mental health clinic in any capacity. Though a rare event, after a client commits suicide their file is seized and examined very carefully for mistakes. Your career may be on the line while you grieve the death of someone you may have gotten to know quite well. "Cold sweat" incarnate.

  • Do you think it’s wrong for a potential employer so say you have to have trimmed nails, have immunizations/flu shots, or they won’t hire you?

So I went in for a job interview and got the job but then during training/orientation they have me fill out paperwork and they want to have my doctors info, all my immunization paperwork, have current flu shots and TB testing and other contagious testing as well as have trimmed short nails. I am against going to doctors, and getting any kind of immunization, I have been like this for 20 years. I do not agree with immunizations. The nail thing isn’t too big of a thing but kinda controlling to me. It was a healthcare job but I already have a part time healthcare job in which I don’t have to get immunizations or anything and no one has gotten sick from me. What do you think? They wouldn’t even accept my belief that immunizations are wrong for me.

Employment follow up. As I have posted before, after working for a major telecommunications company for the past 2+ years as a contract employee my assignment will be over at the end of the year because of a hiring freeze. There’s no hiring freeze because the company just brought on a bunch of new employees. Even though 2 people have left this dept there’s not room in the budget to bring me on perm. The offer was extended to me a year ago to remain as a full employee but 6 months later after I applied the offer was pulled and I was told when my last day was. Ok, the tasks that I’m doing now will be spread out between the other 7 or 8 people on the team and honestly, they don’t want it. When I was doing the task the queue would be no more than 10 or 15 cases. Now that they have taken it from me it’s grown to well over 100. My manager sent me an inner-office ping this morning to say, “Please help clear out the Seasonal cases. I need you to produce the stellar numbers like you did in the past.”

I have a planned cruise next year that is already bought and paid for. I will be out in July for 10 days. It's long way out but what if they hate it anyway that I won't be there. Should I tell them on the phone just in case they don't want me just for that reason or should I wait until the on site interview?

I am becoming very angry at this, and starting to feel extremely resentful because he is on salary, and I’m only making 15.00/hr. I have had no training for this job either, but I realize that this idiot for a manager knows nothing, and the little he has shown me is wrong. He is getting paid for my work, as he doesn’t do ****, but run around all day and play on the Internet. I’m doing waaaay too much. I’m looking for another job, but now I’m bitter and angry, I just moved here and I feel like he’s wasted my time. Plus, there’s not many jobs around here. And it’s Christmas.

  • In the United States, are fast food and retail jobs the only jobs that you can get without a post high school education?

Not only can you not make a decent living from these jobs (or even a poverty living!) these jobs are ridiculously fast and stressful. I need something much slower paced.
