  • Why so much concern lately about plastic straws? Is there something unique to straws that makes them worse than other waste?

Just curious. Straws are a minuscule percentage of our waste stream. I was contemplating a Starbucks frappucino - so they get rid of the straw, but what about the cup? Why is the straw the problem?

  • WHAT’S AN EASY JOB TO GET AT 16?

A job with not much interaction with people? I know I sound like a loser but I have anxiety and I’ve tried to overcome but I honestly I give up. Don’t tell me to face it please, just give me job ideas. Like a cashier is a no go. I’m doing online school next year, so I’ll have a lot more free time anyways...

  • How to get rid of horseflies around pool?

Best answer: We used a granular (yellow) flybait in our stalls that worked quite well. I don't recall the name of the stuff, but we bought it at a local feed/hardware store. Sprinkled it around on dry surfaces, the flies ate it....the flies croaked.

    Miners die of cancer
Current nuclear powerplants provide the stuff to build nuclear weapons
    They are very unflexible
They require a lot of hightech-machinery and expensive personnel
They cause things to be done on a large scale, and with a lot of security-measures
The waste will remain radioactive for a million years, and no safe place to store it that long has been found.

However, they somewhat reduce airpollution. Maybe we should have one in the middle of every major city and replace gasoline-driven cars by electrical ones
