They are completely distracted by them, playing games, listening to music, and not paying attention in class. We told them yesterday that starting on Monday they will be required to turn their cellphone in at the door in the morning, and will get it back at the end of the day. Needless to say, there was mass meltdown. It's not like parents couldn't get in touch if they needed to, they could call the school and the kid will be brought to the phone. What do you think?

  • If you get expelled from school in grade school, what happens? Are you out of an education?

Best answer: YOUR PARENTS are responsible for your education. If you get kicked out of one school, they have to find another that is willing to take you...That may mean they have to pay for private school, or that they have to educate you themselves, at home.

  • Do you think a 1hour and 45 minutes detention is too long ?

Best answer: I think you need to GROW UP some and QUIT WHINING. Detentions aren't supposed to be FUN. They're supposed to be a time in which you complete your school work as a punishment for bad behavior. The next step above this is a suspension, pal. And if you keep screwing up, you could get kicked out of school... show more
Best answer: I think you need to GROW UP some and QUIT WHINING. Detentions aren't supposed to be FUN. They're supposed to be a time in which you complete your school work as a punishment for bad behavior. The next step above this is a suspension, pal. And if you keep screwing up, you could get kicked out of school permanently. While that might sound fun, it's NOT, because how are you going to support yourself without an education? Companies don't hire kids your age to do anything. Even Mickey D's and Walmart don't hire kids your age, because it's illegal and it's bad for business. They might hire you when you turn 18, but if they do, you'll spend the rest of your life flipping burgers or being a greeter at the door of your local Walmart. Is THAT what you want??

If you answered no to that question, then you need to SHAPE UP, because otherwise you're going to get told to SHIP OUT of school. Kids have gotten kicked out of school for being absent or late too many times before. And they inevitably meet bad ends when this happens.

What do you call this in (American) English?

Best answer: not a water fountain or a water facility, it is a sink for washing hands. Communal sink is probably the word that would apply (multiple faucets so many can use it at the same time). A locker-room sink might be used because that is where they seem to be found the most often, but that would be from a person that isn't sure how to identify the single sink with numerous faucets except in terms of where they had been seen.

I wouldn't know how to call the round ones that are similar either, though.

  • Wait one minute I'm currently 17 i will turn 18 in February and graduated high school at age 18 instead of 17. Which means i was held back.?

Best answer: No, you weren't held back. Most people graduate high school at 18, unless they have a summer birthday. Anyone who was born between September of 2000 and August of 2001 (in other words, anyone who turned/turns 18 between this past September and next August) should graduate from high school this spring.

  • Why hasn’t anyone aged physically since the 9th grade?

I go to a 9-12 grade high school. The seniors in my class have been in my classes since the 9th grade. Very few actually physically changed. Most people look exactly the same. It’s been 3 years now, they started at 14 now they’re 17. Thoughts?

  • Is it possible to get to 9th grade?

Best answer: All of the above. The question they need to answer is if you can handle 9th grade and keep up with other 14 year olds. I had a student in your situation. Another consideration for him was that all of his friends were 8th graders.

Best answer: More often 18. 17 is not uncommon. And people usually graduate from high school in May, slightly earlier than when school gets out in June for the other classes.

  • Haha i skip a grade that why I'm a 13 year old old in 8th grade not a 14 year old. Thoe I'm sad i skip a grade because i hate being in 8th.?

Best answer: Some things to think about when skipping grades. You are going to go from junior high or middle school, to highschool a year earlier than everyone else. You are going to be a little wuss compared to all the other guys. If there is anyone who is asking to be bullied, it's gonna be you. Also, I suppose you'll... show more

Also, I suppose you'll want to find a girlfriend some day, probably before you graduate college, but you will be a little boy compared to your classmates. Girls aren't gonna wanna hook up with the little nerd boy who is younger than them. Everyone will start driving before you can, and you'll probably have an earlier curfew than everybody else, so no one will want to take you out because no one will want to end whatever they are doing to take you home before the street lights come on. Riding a bike won't be cool, and having your mom come get you is definitely not cool.
Maybe making your parents proud means more than getting laid or being one of the cool guys, but it is a trade off.

  • What can cause a sudden drop in grades in a high school student if the psychiatrist couldn't find anything, the drug test was negative, and?

The school psychologist couldn't find any learning disabilities? We also had a full physical that was normal. The drop was from a 3.8 to a 2.2 gpa without being moved into harder classes and he is at a loss too. Working harder for plummeting grades.
