The Native Americans and Spanish settlers held a feast and the Holy Catholic Mass was offered. A second similar "Thanksgiving" celebration occurred on American soil on April 30, 1598 in Texas when Don Juan de Oñate declared a day of Thanksgiving to be commemorated by the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass." So it came from Catholics celebrating Mass. The pilgrims were aware of the tradition, but the pilgrims at plymouth rock was not the first thanksgiving. They borrowed it from the Catholic settlers.

  • What is your opinion? Do all religions lead to God?

Best answer: The Bible states that there is only one True religion, then all other religions are false religions controlled by Satan.

Eph 4:5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism;  one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

Why because the biggest liar in history said so?? ( hence everyone who died in ww2 must be added to the Christian side?) Stalin was both a Christian and an atheist. Now add up these statistics for the atheists now!!

Stalin had an excellent saying for these silly people though

A single death is a tragedy; a million deaths is a statistic.

40 But now you are seeking to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God.+ Abraham did not do this. 41 You are doing the works of your father.” They said to him: “We were not born from immorality;* we have one Father, God.”
42 Jesus said to them: “If God were your Father, you would love me,+ for I came from God and I am here. I have not come of my own initiative, but that One sent me.+ 43 Why do you not understand what I am saying? Because you cannot listen to my word. 44 You are from your father the Devil, and you wish to do the desires of your father.+ That one was a murderer when he began,*+ and he did not stand fast in the truth, because truth is not in him. When he speaks the lie, he speaks according to his own disposition, because he is a liar and the father of the lie.+
The Jews were claiming to children of God yet they were trying to kill Jesus. That is why Jesus made the statement above.

Hello, I am 16 years old and I have been going to church on my own for awhile. I've accepted Christ many years ago, and I've gotten to where I feel the need to be baptized and show it. The thing is, my parents are atheists. They allow me to go to church, they've bought me a bible, and they know about when I got saved. Since this is public though, I don't know there reactions and honestly, I don't even want to tell them (I'm not ashamed of who I am and what I believe, it just feels very awkward and they're always surprised I chose this) Honestly, this is probably something I should tell them though, so how would I go about it?

What does matter is whether or not an answer is read. When I see the JW.orh link, I don’t read the answer. I have read enough JW answers.

The point is that most of us know who we agreee with and disagree with when we see the name. If we want others to read our answers without prejudice, we often have to do so anonymously.

  • Christians: Why don't you prove God with actual proof?

For something to exist, it must be proven to exist. Having faith in something is not proof. Christians: Come at me.

Since they think they are able to answer every question with godidit, they expect every other person can answer every question. • Can someone explain what Catholics believe about Purgatory?

I am not asking if you believe it's correct or how you feel about Catholicism. I am wanting to know what they believe. Is it a 3rd place? Do people in Purgatory spend eternity there like Mindy in the TV series, "The Good Place?"

  • How can someone be a Christian and support the death penalty?

"So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her." (John 8:7) King James Bible. Since according to Christianity, we are all sinners that means that none of us can "cast a stone"
