• Medicare for all, question what happens to people employed in the healthcare insurance industry when we go to Medicare For All?

Best answer: Medicare for all sounds good and makes a good talking point. It won't work for a number of reasons, and anyone who knows anything about how Medicare and insurance works knows that. However, that's not what you asked. If we do go to Medicare for all there will still be insurance companies. Medicare does... show more

However, that's not what you asked. If we do go to Medicare for all there will still be insurance companies.

Medicare does not cover prescription drugs, so people will still have to purchase a drug plan like they do now.

Medicare, on average, covers about 57% of covered health costs so there will still be Medicare Supplements or Medicare Advantage plans like there are now.

Medicare does not cover maternity, so we will either need to include maternity with Medicare, which will jack up the premium you'll have to pay, or there will be insurance to purchase that covers maternity.

  • How can you get off your parents health insurance without letting them know?

Best answer: You can request that the medical office or hospital not bill your insurance for the services, but you will have to pay up front or work out a payment plan before they will let you go self pay. Talk to the billing office in person.

  • After reaching my annual maximum, does the dentist still need to abide by the fee schedule they have with the dental insurance?

Best answer: Yes. They only don't have to abide if the service isn't covered. It's covered, it's just that you hit the maximum. So, if they don't cover implants, that's not part of the fee schedule. But, if you hit the maximum and go in for a normally covered service, you get the discounted rate. If... show more

Our power went out due to a fallen pole from a crash. We had just gone grocery shopping the day before. The refrigerator was off for more than 15 hours. Is there anything I can do or is it just a loss?

My boyfriend has a lot of health ailments. There is a certain family member of his who has absolutely no financial ties to him what-so-ever but has a life insurance policy on him. This person has had the policy for years and from what I'm told has had the policy prior to his health ailments coming to light. Again, there are no financial ties and if he died today or tomorrow she most likely would not give a dime toward his funeral or share with his children and the people he is actually financially responsible for. Can she do this? I'm sure she got his consent when she initially opened the policy but he wants this person to take it off of him now. She has no financially ties to him, his untimely death would be no more than a payday for her. Please advise.

Quite honestly, in such a dire need as your

You might try calling your father in law's insurance company to explain what you have written here - maybe they have some way to resolve this.

Best answer: I had a house fire back in 1995 which only had fire damages in 1 bedroom and part of the roof, but the major problem we had was smoke damages that caused the entire house in the inside to be stripped bare. The restoration company was there the next morning, thus they took everything, like clothing, furniture etc to a place that they tried to (remove) the smoke damages.

The key with a restoration company being a flood or fire, wants to (save) as much, thus insurance saves money on not paying for claims that they can save due to their restoration. A good restoration company knows that the insurance will pay them, be it 30 days or more, (unless) insurance disputes your claim, then you, since as the owner had to sign to have the restoration company to try and mitigate your damages.

For the time being don't worry if they pay them or not, since if insurance disputes, then they will have to send you a denial letter of the reasons of (why) they dispute your claim, then at that time the restoration company will be after you to pay the bill.

You are getting ahead of yourself, vs just focus on your claim with the insurance and my guess they will settle with you and if not, then since you have hired an independent adjuster whose job is to make sure your claim is paid and if not, then to fight for you.

Best answer: Normally business use is "similar" to commercial insurance. But it appears that your insurance only covers while driving back and forth while working, but (excludes) if you have people/patients in your vehicle.

See the difference between the 2 is that if you have an accident, they will cover you, but if you have a patient in your vehicle, then your insurance could be on the hook for injuries, thus they will (not) cover you.

This BS that your employer states that your insurance will cover this is just BS. If/when you were to have an accident with a patient/co worker is in the car, then you don't wan t to find out that your insurance denies due to being not covered or in other words excluded. The patient can sue YOU, the driver/owner of the vehicle that caused their injuries.

So, unless you can get a letter from the (company) not your boss stating that (if) your insurance does not cover you, then they will pay for any damages/injuries. Or, better yet, let them provide you with a company vehicle that you use, so it will be the companies insurance and not yours.

You can change your insurance from business to commercial, but the cost maybe much much more. So you can then ask your employer to pay you the additional cost to cover you.

Your employer in "effect" has asked you to be a taxi driver. They need to hire more employees that drive their own vehicles vs using the current and having other employees drive for them. They have what they call (real) taxis, or Uber or Lyft for that reason, so let them pay them to drive them instead.

Don't do this and make sure that other employees do the same, thus they would have to either let everyone go, or find other solutions
