• Was my chess opponent cheating?

Best answer: Almost certainly not. He joined the site yesterday and his rating simply hadn't yet caught up to his ability when you played him; it's up to 1300 now, which is plenty to beat an 800 player consistently. He was very aggressive, but some of his attacking moves were not quite sound and a computer wouldn't have made them. I'm looking at one of his games (against an opponent I assume is you; it's the only opponent that fits your description) and he played the best move just 42% of the time.

Modern titles like Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride, Fluxx, Dix It, Betrayal on the House of the Hill & Pandemic are just a few that have become staples. Secret Hitler & Cards Against Humanity are geared for more mature audiences (due to the content or context of the games). Even "Legacy Games", like Risk Legacy & Pandemic Legacy, have added new twists to make games a bit more interesting with changes that persists between games.

There's likely some other games to spice up "Game Night", but this should give you some ideas.

Each player is only given partial information about the murder (essentially what was NOT involved) & must obtain more information through deduction with suggestions. HOWEVER, you have to try your best to obscure your hand & your lead (if a certain person, weapon or location is being heavily used... especially by a particular player, they could be leaking some information).

The dice rolls & movement between the rooms is the only element of chance within the game.

Suppose you jump over a checker and then you are at the end of the board. There is another checker in the same rank and two files over. Are you allowed to turn around and jump that piece immediately after your man became a king?

Against engine has multiple benefits, show evaluation during the match, show best move, takebacks. Against human you can lose then review the analysis. But can't use the features of an engine opponent because it's cheating.

  • In a Professional Chess Game, how many minutes does each player have to move one of his Chess pieces, and hit the timer button?

Best answer: The time between each move varies depending on what stage the match is in. Total time is more important, as the match goes on, you develop a cadence that uses it more efficiently.

I play games that are typically 20min/side.
