I’m a really shy person, it’s just hard for me to approach people and make the first move, and that’s really affected my social life. NOBODY my age tries to approach me ever. Even when I’m sitting alone at lunch, nobody tries to come up with me and strike conversation. I’m alone and depressed. It’s been like this since high school began and I feel so isolated. I want to make more friends but it is so hard for me to approach people first. I feel like people hate me because nobody ever tries to talk to me. Please help me, I am miserable and at a breaking point

I can never have a conversation with him without him getting an attitude. He never confides in me, never once congratulated me on graduating high school, and never seems happy for me and my accomplishments. I can never talk to him because he s always so negative and blames everything on me. And of course my brother is always on his side. Nobody ever understands how I feel having to deal with this angry man who always makes me feel like crap. The number one man in your life is suppose to be your dad but not my dad. He never gives me any attention and he treats me like ****

I survived a very abusive childhood and the trauma caused me to have some signs of premature aging. My hair slowly started to turn stark white at the age of 23 and now at 32 it's completely white/dry/course. I dye it regularly (every 3 weeks) just the roots to match the darker brunette color I dyed the rest. It looks really dry and damaged despite me eating healthy, taking vitamins, never blow drying/using heat, using deep hair conditioning masks. Nothing helps its dry and frizzy regardless. I have been hearing a lot more lately that men believe that women hit a wall at 30. We lose the roundness/plumpness in our faces, start to show wrinkles around the eyes, some grey/white hair, sun damage all of that. I thought to myself it cant be true that most guys think that but I'm starting to think a good majority of them do. I have yet to meet a guy my age that isn't dating a girl in her early 20s. I also work with 3 men in their 40s who are dating 22, 25 and 28 year olds. People have joked with me and said "Didn't you know you were supposed to date a guy in his 30s and hope he'd marry you when you were in your early 20s youre screwed, now you've hit the age wall. There's even videos on youtube describing "the wall" phenomenon with men saying women lose all value with age while a man's value increases. Over 80k men like it! I feel sick to my stomach

My wife and I are in our mid 20s. We met in college and discovered we had similar childhood experiences. Both raised in pretty bad environments with parents and family who were poor, unprofessional, and irresponsible, put drugs or alcohol before their children, and blamed all their problems on everyone else. My wife and I worked our way through college, graduated, we both have good jobs, and we got married. I've tried to limit contact with my family. I don't plan on ever helping my parents, not even when they're old and need it. They didn't help me, so why should I really. Now my wife and I are about to have a daughter, and when my family found out I told them that they weren't going to be allowed to be in her life, because I don't respect them or their behavior. Then a few days ago I got a call from one of my relatives who said I look down my nose at all of them because I have money and they don't, and that I'm just an elitist snob who wants to forget where I came from. The thing is, I haven't forgotten, and that's exactly why I don't want to speak with them. They refuse to take responsibility for the fact that they're losers and improve their lives, so why should I be viewed as a snob for actually being productive, professional, and responsible?

  • Is it possible that it just wasn’t meant to be (for me)?

Best answer: I would say probably 85% of a person's circumstances aren't their fault. It's not your fault, it's theirs. Your circumstances have been rigged in such a way that your failures were predetermined from birth. What are you willing to do about it?

  • My little sister gave me an erection. Am I going to Hell?

I feel like crap now. She walked into my room with just bra and panties, and I got super hard. SMH! I swear I do not like her at all. I just couldn't control my erection. Ever since, I can not look at my sister the same way.

I’m only 17 and a friend of mine is crazy about god, Jesus and the bible as a whole. Every time I ask her advice about something she unloads all this “god will show you the path” and start reciting bible verses to me, and it’s all the time. I don’t disrespect others’ beliefs, but I’m just trying to get through my life, learn my lessons, have fun, and get my studies done. I have not been brought up in a religious home, nor an atheist home, we just get on with our lives and help eachother through tough times. But I feel like she always unloads all of her religious beliefs on me, always tells me how she tries to get her friends “saved” and converted to christianity, and I feel kind of under pressure by her. Surely it’s not fair for her to try to “convert” me. Besides, it always ends up with her telling me for about an hour her journey with Jesus and it doesn’t involve me at all. And at the end of the day, I don’t want to be hearing that 24/7. Should I talk to her about it? Or will she think I’m being disrespectful and cut me off?
