• How can I get nice, crisp lines when I scan something in Photoshop?

For many years, I have drawn things in ink, scanned them into my old but reliable copy of Photoshop, boosted the contrast, and boom, I had nice clean lines (not quite hard black and white; I don t want jaggy bitmap-looking stuff. Just crisp.) It literally took seconds. Now I have an updated version of Photoshop, and when I boost the contrast, very little happens unless I also lower the brightness, and then I get all these annoying artifact black pixels everywhere, that I would have to erase by hand. If I try instead to adjust the levels, I can t get it to give me true black, as if it s convinced that I want everything gray. So, lately, I ve been moving my scans over to my old laptop just to boost the contrast, and then taking them back to my new computer to do the rest of my Photoshopping. That s silly, but it s faster than any alternative I ve found in the new version. I d gladly just keep on using the old version, except it won t run on my new computer. Is there any workaround for this? Is there something I could download to fix it? I use a Mac, if that matters.

  • What is a good (free) video player that I can watch mp4 and flv files?

Best answer: I like MPC-HC because it is so lightweight and takes like no time to load even on my older comp. It can handle almost anything you want to play especially if you install it with K-Lite codec pack (which is entirely customizable). Free, no ads, minimal, give it a try.
