• Should I report my professor for making anti-Trump remarks?

My professor declared to the class that Trump doesn't want to serve the American citizens and isn't doing what's in our best interest. Many of my professors do it once and a while, and it's getting on my nerves!

So many people think that once when one has a bachelors degree, then a good paying job is guaranteed. So many think that one is going to find a job making $60,000 to $70,000 right after college because of a college degree. What is it going to take for the general public to see that the above is a big lie. The only thing that college is necessary for is for people who are studying a subject that actually has a set career, such as becoming a lawyer, a doctor, an engineer, etc. Anything else besides these subjects is not going to get you a good paying job. For anything else, one is better going off to a trade school. There are people who went off to trade school and only spent maybe $6,000 most (including books!) to become an HVAC Tech who end up making more than $100,000 a year. Then you have college grads with a BA or BS degree in whatever and are $90,000 in debt with school loans who are working low paying jobs or can't even find a job. When is the general public going to wake up to the big college lie?

  • "African American is funny" grammatically correct or not?

So I was academically disqualified from the university I went to for undergrad, mostly because of my bad grades due to personal issues (a family member killed herself and I didn't know how to deal with it, I didn't feel I fit in, was dealing with my own depression, and my priorities weren't in the right places). I however managed to work through all of those issues and school is my top priority; I'm at a CC now, and my gpa (including the gpa earned from uni is now a 3.8). I'm transferring back to the uni I got disqualified from, and this time with the correct mindset, so I KNOW I will only be getting better. Assuming I perform well on my MCATs and do my fair share of ECs, how much will the disqualification impact my chances of getting into med school?

I'm currently in my second year at a local community college with at least (and hopefully) 1 more year to go. I'm at a moment in my educational journey where I'm just stuck. I have absolutely no idea what I want to do with my life (and I'm very indecisive, which doesn't help). My current major is mechanical engineering. I picked that cause I heard it was a good undergrad degree for biomedical engineering, which was my ultimate career goal. However, here I am about to flunk 1st semester physics for engineering, and having already failed 1st semester Gen. Chemistry... TWICE... Yeah. I know I should maybe just change majors, but TO WHAT? I've gone to career counseling before and I got recommended to STEM-like majors and careers. I've also considered business, but I don't think I have the interpersonal skills to do that. I've considered the medical field (maybe PT or PA) but I'm not sure if I'm emotionally equipped and personable enough to handle working with sick and dying patients. (I'm not really a people person). At this point, I'm asking myself why am I even in college? I have no real talents, horrible work ethic (which could explain the failures), and an indecisive mind. If I do end up dropping, it would only be for a short while (hopefully) to figure myself out. But i was hoping to get some advice on how I can overcome this funk that I'm experiencing.

  • What is the process of getting your child to skip a grade?

Best answer: You would need to talk to the school. Skipping a grade isn't just about academics. There are also social/maturity issues to be considered. It may be that he's advanced in his academics, but if he'd drown, socially, if he moved up a grade, that's something you and the school really need to think about. show more
