• Couldn’t America trim the national deficit spending if we STOP making Public School K-12 FREE?

Best answer: Public schools are an American institution in themselves. Just because you don't appreciate that fact don't make broader assumptions. Your plan would not save money for individuals and would result in illiteracy among the poor. However, I can sympathize with your wish to get clear of the crud. But any kind... show more

What do you call this in (American) English?

Best answer: not a water fountain or a water facility, it is a sink for washing hands. Communal sink is probably the word that would apply (multiple faucets so many can use it at the same time). A locker-room sink might be used because that is where they seem to be found the most often, but that would be from a person that isn't sure how to identify the single sink with numerous faucets except in terms of where they had been seen.

I wouldn't know how to call the round ones that are similar either, though.

  • Why hasn’t anyone aged physically since the 9th grade?

I go to a 9-12 grade high school. The seniors in my class have been in my classes since the 9th grade. Very few actually physically changed. Most people look exactly the same. It’s been 3 years now, they started at 14 now they’re 17. Thoughts?

  • Someone wanted to know what age you graduated high school in the USA. You usally graduated high school at age 17 unless your birthday is in?

Best answer: More often 18. 17 is not uncommon. And people usually graduate from high school in May, slightly earlier than when school gets out in June for the other classes.

Also, I suppose you'll want to find a girlfriend some day, probably before you graduate college, but you will be a little boy compared to your classmates. Girls aren't gonna wanna hook up with the little nerd boy who is younger than them. Everyone will start driving before you can, and you'll probably have an earlier curfew than everybody else, so no one will want to take you out because no one will want to end whatever they are doing to take you home before the street lights come on. Riding a bike won't be cool, and having your mom come get you is definitely not cool.
Maybe making your parents proud means more than getting laid or being one of the cool guys, but it is a trade off.

  • What can cause a sudden drop in grades in a high school student if the psychiatrist couldn't find anything, the drug test was negative, and?

The school psychologist couldn't find any learning disabilities? We also had a full physical that was normal. The drop was from a 3.8 to a 2.2 gpa without being moved into harder classes and he is at a loss too. Working harder for plummeting grades.

  • Can anyone reccomend good fountain pens if you're left handed?

I keep getting detention at school because all my pens smudge (we have to use fountain pens) and the teacher can't read my writing. We get to choose our own fountain pen but I can't find any that work for left handers. Any advice would be really useful

Best answer: You need to inquire with the district office of the school district (and specific school) into which you want to enroll your son. Some districts have open enrollment; some do not. Some have a window of time in the Spring for open enrollment applications. Some schools are full and can't take new students even if they have wide-open open enrollment.

My advice would be to make some calls and take a breath. Many kids don't like a new school. Many kids have difficulty adjusting to. a private school. SOMETHING is going on with your son if he doesn't want to go to private school and also doesn't want to go to the school where neighborhood friends attend. You might find a few meetings with a psychologist are in order before you start jumping around schools and districts. If he moves mid-year, he is also going to have a lot of difficulty fitting in. It may not be the solution he thinks it is.
