  • Halloween prank what would happen if I did this?

Say that on halloween night, I keep several open cans of creamed corn by my front door. And every time I get a trick or treater, I open the door, quickly dump the can of creamed corn into their bag of candy then shut the door. No words ever spoken. Lol what would come of that?

Say that on halloween I fill individual ziplock bags full of bite size candy bars. Then every trick or treater gets their own ziplock bag full of candy. But in each ziplock bag, I include a bonus item. And I fill the ziplock bag partially with candy, insert the bonus item, and then fill the bag the rest of the way with candy, which means the bonus item will be covered by the candy, and trick or treaters and any parents or chaperones will ONLY see a bag of candy when I give it to the kids. The kids will find the bonus item later when they dump out the contents of the bag at home. What are the bonus items? Well the kids will receive one of three fabulous prizes. In 1/3 of the bags is a pack of cigarettes. In 1/3 of the bags is a condom And in 1/3 of the bags in an index card explaining where babies come from. The parents will be horified lol. And I have a pretty nondesdript house that blends in. Hard to positively identify it later after seeing it once, after dark. Would the police be likely to heavily investigate this? And if so could I get into any legal trouble if caught?

  • Would being a Knight of the Crusades be an offensive Halloween costume?

With the Alt-Right s adoption of "Deus Vult" as a sort of call for a second Crusade in the Middle-East, as well as high tensions in the US towards Muslim populations, would a Knight of the Crusades be to evocative of these subtexts -- or am I thinking way too hard about it?

Thanksgiving (in the USA) was originally an extension of the Harvest Festival from Europe and occurred on the date when the harvest was complete. Obviously this varied widely around the country but usually happened in October or November. When it was decided to create a single Federal Holiday in 1941 it was fixed as being on the fourth Thursday in November.
