• Why does this same car stop at the stop sign for a long time?

This is the second time this week I've noticed the same black car stopping at this stop sign with one of its blinkers on (the first time, it had its right blinker on, second time it had its left blinker on). But both times, it stops there for well over a minute before going straight instead of turning. My home... show more
This is the second time this week I've noticed the same black car stopping at this stop sign with one of its blinkers on (the first time, it had its right blinker on, second time it had its left blinker on). But both times, it stops there for well over a minute before going straight instead of turning. My home is located at a neighborhood intersection, and it's not like I'm looking out the windows all the time, which makes me think this car tends to go through this neighborhood a lot and stop at the stop sign quite often (more than just the two times I've observed). What's it planning?

Today I was stopped at a red light with two lanes going straight. An ambulance was approaching from behind me while I was in the left lane so I moved over to the right lane as close to the curb I could get. The right lane had no cars in it but the 3 cars in the left lane didn t move over so the ambulance had to go into the left turning lane to get around them. I ve heard that ambulances typically stay in the left lane so that s why I moved to the right lane but because of the other 3 cars not moving over I feel like I blocked the ambulance driver. Did I do the right thing by going to the right lane or should I have just stayed put? Thank you!

  • Why do some cities have such stupid parking rules?

Another reason is so that old cars that don't even run don't just get left in the same parking space for years at a time.

Without the parking rules, there would be nowhere to park, because eventually all the parking spaces would be filled, permanently. The rules that force cars to be moved eventually are why parking spaces become available again.

Not all the streets ban parking on the same day. You are supposed to park on a street where parking is allowed on the day you are visiting, and if you are staying over, you move your car before the day when parking isn't allowed there.

  • Statistics wise, are there more car accidents/deaths or bike accidents/deaths?

Discuss. Is it more dangerous to ride your bike in the city, or is it more dangerous to ride your car in a city. Say NYC since I live here. I can't find a single statistic saying which is more dangerous, which has more deaths/accidents percentage wise.

  • What does it mean when someone continuously flashes their high-beams behind you?

Best answer: You were smart not to stop. That sometimes is a ploy to get women to stop. However if that gas station was open, I would have pulled in there where there were other people.
