I finally got to know why my gf is scared of everything relationship involved. It's like like she wants desperately to love and be loved, but she's so closed, introverted and reserved that she looks like she wants to stay alone. So basically it went like this: we slept together (only sleeping) for the first time, everything was perfect, she had a hige smile on her face when she laid her head on me.the problem is that the following morning I caressed her face and hair and kissed her (for the first time)..she freaked out, was so scared and istinctively elbowed me. I had blood on my lips and I do not blame her, she was so sorry and apologised but I was shocked at her reaction, she cried apologizing and told me that it's all her fault. Then I asked her why, and she cried even more and told me a really sad thing, that when she was a child a cousin of her (she was staying at his aunt because her parents were always working) ripped off her tank top and blocked her on the couch squeezing her chest and biting her although she tried to go away she was weaker than him (he was 17). She was just a 11 years old child. I was so shocked I could not believe it. So this is why she is afraid of everything, and deep down she fears I will do the same to her. Of course I told her theres no way, but she's scared and it never goes away.

  • My parents bought my brother a brand new $35,000 car but won't loan me $500 for the used pickup truck I want?

My parents bought my brother a brand-new Mercedes a year ago for his 17th birthday (not a loan, they don't expect a cent in return from him). All I want is a '97 GMC 2500 that's being sold for $5,000 near me. I have $4,500 saved up from my job and asked my parents if they would loan me $500, and they... show more

They said they "absolutely would not loan a cent" for a car. That's the only explanation they gave. I asked them to explain further, and they just said "the answer's no, deal with it." *I can save up the rest of the money in about 5 weeks, I just can't understand how they're okay with buying my brother a $35k car at 17 but apparently asking for $500 is some sort of crime.

  • My family is calling me lazy and stupid because I I do not want kids or pets?

Best answer: Good for you, when I had the opportunity to travel, my wife got pregnant and that ended the dream. My daughter plays the cello like Yoyo Ma, so I guess there's that.

Really, what is so difficult about being patient and understanding with those that you're responsible for driving mad in the first place?

  • Is this student flirting with me, his TA, or just being friendly?

All students in class are supposed to sign attendance with this name & TA name, which for him would be me. When signing in, he always goes “The myth, the legend, the hero, Emily (the great!)” or “Emily (the best)” or “Emily (The best literally) :-)” or “Emily (hope you had a wonderful weekend!)” is this flirting and, if so, I don’t know how to handle it as his TA and him being my student. Or else, just being nice? He does tell me I’m the best TA and seeks conversations with me in and out of class.

If you're ready, then fine...simply tell him you've thought about it and you're ready. As an outsider though, it really seems like you're doing it out of obligation....because it seems time (the 3rd month together.)

Do yourself a favor...don't set a date. When you're ready, you're ready. If he can't understand that, then he doesn't really respect you.

I'm 21, and my brother is 24. We bought a house, and we are currently living in it together. My girlfriend lived with us for about 6 months. All was going well except for my brother hated my girlfriend. he's a calm guy, and can usually control his anger. My girlfriend is real outgoing and can be pretty loud. My brother is the exact opposite. He's a very kind person. But he gets very annoyed very easily. Hes made it very clear to me several times that he doesnt like her, hes been pretty nice to her up until about a month ago. He likes the house to be quit at about 9:30pm on weekdays, as he has to wake up early in the morning for his job. One night my girlfriend wanted to have some friends over for a few drinks. Well, 9:30 came around, and I told her maybe people should start heading out. She wanted them to stay longer so i told her I'd ask my brother. She said dont ask him, just tell him. I went and told him she'd kinda drunk and is being difficult. (Wich she was). My brother gets up, and goes and tells all her friends that they need to leave. They do. And my girlfriend just walks to the back room and goes to sleep. I'm not going to go into detail, but she moved out the next day. She said she doesnt want to live in a house if someone doesnt want her there. It sucks because I feel so happy when shes around, but I also dont feel like my brother should have to feel so uncomfortable in his own house all the time. What should I do?

  • My ex girl left me for another guy. On the day we broke up I saw a photo of the guy she cheated on me with. How to stop thinking about it?

I'm losing my mind. I acted kind of weak towards the end and I think that's why she cheated. In the past year I've lost both grandparents. I'm just not doing well. Literally the night before she broke up with me she told me she loved me. I'm just devastated and it's been a week.

  • Do you agree hes a shallow bigot?

Best answer: What I see in your post is someone whose feelings got hurt because she threw herself at someone and that person wasn't interested, for whatever reasons. Just like you don't want to "do" every guy who finds you appealing, not every guy you find appealing will feel the same about you. Get over it. Your posts, if true, make you sound very immature trying to make up false reasons for someone having rejected you.

Find someone who DOES want to fool around with you, and stop trying to make someone into a villain because you were their type. Gal, not everyone who doesn't want to hook up with you will feel that way because of your skin color or height. There's way more to sexual attraction than that.

And I'm not just referring to emotional strength. My mother came very close to dying in 2011, and it was a sudden, unexpected illness. She hadn't done anything to prepare -- to prepare me and my siblings -- in terms of an updated will and various financial issues. We'd tried to get her to put things in order for years, but she hadn't. Dealing with all of that while she was unconscious and unable to tell us anything was very daunting, but we managed it.
