I know that taking large amounts over a long period of time can damage your body, but I am wondering how much you would have to take to harm yourself in one go? I know that this kind of thing can differ from person to person, so if it makes a difference, I am 25, female, not particularly small - am 5’3 and go between about 9 and 9.5 stone. NOTE: I am not asking this for dangerous reasons. I’m not trying to hurt or kill myselfx In fact, the opposite. I’m wondering what the limit is of how much I could safely take. While I am asking this theoretically, I also fully acknowledge that the effects of any advice I choose to take is my responsibility, and not the person who gave the advice.

When I say I didn’t feel anything I mean I didn’t physically feel any different or feel more focused at all. Naturally I have no problem focusing on things when I need to, like schoolwork or anything really. I guess I can’t sleep that well but I blame that on the fact that I woke up at 4 pm the day of as opposed to the addy. Also for reference I am on 100 mg of Zoloft a day and I also had a few sips of rum. I’m pretty sure that being a first timer and taking 65 mg of Addy would have me bouncing of the walls so I’m wondering if I’m naturally “immune” to the stuff?

Best answer: An addict is never "recovered." The are either "in recovery" or actively using. Opioid addiction is considered to be a disease/a mental health issue which can be controlled by the individual but it isn't something that just goes away. When a person is "in recovery: they stay in recovery one day at a time, whether it be 6 months or 25 years. They are NOT recovered in 10 years.

For some people, it can take only 3 DAYS to become physically dependent of an opioid.

A person who injects heroin for the first time, will NEVER get the same high as that first time EVER. A person who is addicted to heroin continues to use heroin to "be normal", not to get high. They are using because their body is addicted and they are trying to avoid the HORIBLE symptoms of withdrawal. This is why they continue to use, not to just get high.

Most of what you wrote is true, as is the answer the person gave that has a "?" for a screen name, which is the reason why I gave them a TU.

I am the Mother of a 37 year old Son who's been in long term recovery from Heroin and Alcohol. In fact he'll be 3 years clean next Monday, July 16th. Again, if he remains "clean" for 10 years, he is NOT recovered. He's been in long term recovery for that amount of time. Statistics show that only 3% of recovering heroin addicts will remain in long term recovery, which is a very low number. The people who do continue to use either end up in prison or dead. That's a FACT. It's also very common for people who are trying to stay clean to relapse many times, to go to jail many times and also to go to rehab many times before they end up staying in long term recovery, ONE DAY AT A TIME.

  • Am I gonna die?

Best answer: If you don't get the antidote in the ER within 12 hours of overdosing you can expect to die of liver failure in about 2 weeks. It's an excruciating way to die and if you miss the antidote there's nothing that can be done to save your life.

  • Acetaminophen overdose?

Best answer: One of the main side effects of acetaminophen overdose is liver damage. Liver damage often takes a while to have any effects, so you could start to feel effects days later. You really need to go to a doctor right away and get evaluated and treated.
