    Along with the other suggestion to check processes, go to the Startup Tab in the Task Manager
    which indicates which programs are automatically starting.
    Multiple apps install some processes which automatically run at startup without you doing anything.

    You should review the processes in the Startup tab and you can right click on ones you
    don't think are needed and disable them and check and see if it improves your memorry usage.
    Also, you check if disabling process causes problems with the related application.

    However with 16GB ram, using 3 GB RAM at startup should not slow anything down.
    You should be in good shape.

  • Is 32 gigs of RAM overkill?

Seeing I didn't pay for it (crazy gamer friend upgraded his 8930 to 64 gigs so he had a couple sticks left over.) I thought what the heck. Anyway, the most intensive programs I run are Lightroom, Photoshop, and Portrait Professional (I'm a photographer, not a gamer) So, even with programs becoming more and more resource hungry, it to mention Windows 10 as a resource glutton, how likely is it that 32 gigs will not eventually be enough?

    I got on today to do some of my animation work. I tried booting up a game called fortnite as a time to take a bit of a break. While I did that it had said error and not loaded so I decided that maybe it has something to do with how I need to update my windows 10 to the latest version. I had pressed update and restart on my computer and when that had happened all it did was restart and show me a no wifi signal bottom right even if I am using an ethernet cable and the cable was fine. After that, it did not pop up the login screen. I tried opening my bios and opening it in safe mode but all it did was open it to the login again. I waited half an hour and it finally showed me the login and all my files were there but I had no internet, my firewall & network protection was disabled and my audio had problems. Also, all my video files seemed to not open. How can I fix this? I need serious help!

    Best answer: Your router connects your devices to the Internet.
    Your ISP allocates an external IP address to your router.
    Your router allocates internal IP addresses to the devices using it.
    All the devices including the router have a "MAC" address, it only goes one "hop" but can be used to filter out unwanted devices;

    Have a read of this;

    Wi-Fi only links your router to devices in your house the absence of an Ethernet cable connection so that is not a part of your ISP`s function, their router just provides that facility.
    Your ISP are now legally obliged to warn you if illegal downloads are happening.
    Best of luck with it, regards, Bob UK.
    Nobody got a thumbs down from me by the way, and most of them did not deserve one anyway.

When I plugged the hard drive into my laptop and tried to start going through the data, it won't let me see anything. Most of the folders are empty, which worries me, but there is one huge file, that I am hoping has everything on it. Can anyone tell me how I can get access to that? Do I need to somehow convert the files? If you need more info let me know, thanks :)
