  • How can I repel dogs out of my yard without repealing cats?

We have cats that we have that live outside. We have had problems with dogs coming in our yard and killing our cats, they just recently took the life of one of our kittens. I just wanted to know if there was something inexpensive that can keep the dogs out of the yard but make sure our cats stay in the yard.

He loves to eat and cuddle and roll in grass but today we found him and his right eye was swollen, he didn’t want attention, and his tail seemed a little droopy. We actually found the owners but it doesn’t look like the cat likes his home, the owner was sweet but her house was very unkept and messy and she seemed a little trashy (sorry...her whole house smelled like pot.) but at our house he has a big back yard, toys, a bed, and food and people who play with him. we aren’t sure how to fix his eye or if we should even give him back....advice?

I am moving into a house in a week and although I have five acres, we still have neighbors. They are not super close, but close enough to where I would not want to bother them. The current residence I am at has feral and stray cats roaming. I have befriended multiple and took two in as kittens. There are three other adults who come in at night time to sleep here and eat. One of the cats had four kittens in my home. They are three months now and I did want to give them to a safe home, but the person who was going to take them backed out. I am still looking for someone to give them a good home, but until then they are in my care. So in total I have quite a few. I feel bad for these cats since many have been ran over and some have been harmed by other people here, so I can t imagine leaving the three other outdoor cats. All of my cats (besides the kittens) were born outside and grew up outside, so they enjoy it out there. I don t want to force them to become indoor cats and I would still like them to be outside at the new house, but while being safe from people and cars. Any ideas on what I can do? We wanted to build a barn, but that would have to wait a bit. We want to keep them on our land, which is not fenced in, so they don t disturb neighbors. Any help is greatly appreciated.

He has been nothing but awesome since I have owned him but as of three weeks ago he has began to seclude himself from my wife and other pets (2 dogs and a cat). They normally get along but now he just keeps to himself in the bathroom. He has lost a noticeably significant amount of weight (he was a big fat bundle of love when I first received him) and pees in the tub, as well as occasionally lays down and pees all over himself. Any and all information would be very helpful, I just want to be pointed in the right direction to bring back the old Boscoe I love.

Best answer: Getting your cat spayed won't change their personality. It will only stop their heat cycles.

  • Should I put my cat to sleep. She s 9 years old so she s getting up there?

Best answer: At 9 years old she is BARELY middle age. She may live another 5-10 yrs. She is far from being an old cat (my oldest one is 7 1/2 and still acts like a kitten at times).

Unless the cat has a terminal illness (cancer, etc.) there is NO reason to put your cat to sleep!

I assume that some one called a shelter and picked them up while one kitten escaped. Either that, or the mother and her kittens abandoned the runt. Anyway, the runt kitten has been very distraught and constantly meows and kneads to comfort herself. She has been taking interest in my older male cat who doesn t mind her so at least she isn t too lonely. However, I m planning on taking her in, getting her spayed, shots, etc, and I don t know if I should just continue feeding and playing with her until she gets used to me more or follow these videos online that say you should just catch them and then make them feel loved. I m afraid that it will take too long for her to get used to me and I don t like the fact that she is a tiny runt that could get into all kinds of trouble if she continues to sleep outside alone. She doesn t leave my deck but I m still afraid that something could kill her. I live in an area where there are raccoons, skunks, and coyotes that have killed chickens of mine in the past. ( she is MUCH smaller than a chicken )

My cat will not fight back even when she is in pain. i pinch nose, put my finger inside her mouth, pull her ears but she will just cry softly and try to go away and she would never scratch me or bite me. she still comes to me to sleep beside and lick my hand. is it usual for a cat to be this docile?

Hello, I have a foster cat who gave birth to 7 kittens June 9. They are all doing well. I have weighed them everyday since and they are gaining about .5 oz a day. However 3 other kittens about the same age, under fed and much smaller then the 7 kittens mom has, were brought to the shelter and my foster cat has taken to them. So now she is looking after 10 kittens. The 3 kittens came into the picture yesterday. Anyway I weighed them all today and her 7 original kittens still gained weight but only about .15 oz each give or take. The three all gained about .6 oz. I am supplementing the three kittens with kitten formula but they are not taking well to the fake nipple. I have bottle fed kittens before. I am wondering if anyone knows how to increase milk production in cats? Or if maybe I should seperate the kittens into 2 litters and monitor feeding times? Or take the three kittens away during the day and feed them and help them potty myself and return them to mom for night time? I know this will work out I an just a bit unsure about which course of action would he better. I really don t want to stress mom ou

The accident happened because i was stimming(a condition where one needs stimulation by doing actions that would seem "abnormal), unaware of my surroundings i stepped on my kitten. I think it was the lower region around her tail, but I'm still worried as there could possibly be hidden internal damage. She's able to run at high speeds, able to eat, and doesnt seem to have any issue with her physical body. There hasn't been any abnormality in emotional behavior though. Her meows, though. They've been a bit off. She meows for about 3 seconds more than the usual when petting her. Is this worth a vet visit?
