I would like some advice on how to maturely handle my 23 year old daughter. She still lives with me and her younger sister. She works full time and does help us with the bills. She has never been a liar, per se, but she has been lying to us about an abusive guy she met online. Athough he lives in another state, she's had difficulty breaking up with him. Last winter I put my foot down and said she either moves out or breaks up with him. It was a horrible argument where she guilt tripped me. I'm not perfect either but this is getting to be way too much. She told me she broke it off. But I have since found out that when she tried to break it off, he threatened to post compromising pictures she had previously sent him. I was shocked to find out she sent him such photos in the first place. I thought of getting her a therapist but, even then, I can't make her go. Last week she told me she was going to her friend's place for a week. I asked her why she needed to stay overnight when her friend lives only 10 miles away. I realised that it was him who was visiting when she came back with no photos of the apparent amazing time she had with her friend. And out of the blue, she accused me of stealing $600 from her! I've never stolen anything from her. In fact, I tried to give her everything I could. I was shocked, but now know it is him who's put a wedge between us. I feel like I failed as a mother. I wish I knew what I did wrong along the way. What should I do or say?

I also have a 4-year-old son. My daily schedule is already a handful as it is...I wake up at 6 AM to get my kid and self ready for school/daycare and then after I head out to school and I have clinicals at least 2x a week that are 8-12 hours shifts. I finish class around 1 PM and then when I have no clinical I go to the library and study for 3-4 hours. After I got to work I work part-time like 4-6 hours depending as well on my situation. I'm literally busy for the whole day, I can't leave my job because I'm a single mother. I have 5 siblings and none of them want to take care of her! I'm the "nurse" so of course, everybody is ganging up on me. Some of them aren't even married or have kids much less work and go to school every day like I do. When I told them I'm thinking of putting her in a nursing home everybody including my mom told me I was a "disgrace" and that I should be ashamed of myself. I've worked at a nursing home before and it isn't as bad as people think it is...

Personally, I don t like the idea of children making a habit of being in their parents bedroom. But, I do know quite a few parents who don t mind at all.

He is mostly left-leaning, but has a lot of views associated with Nazism (that only started since withdrawing from his meds - against the will of his mother and doctor) and feels that psychiatry is a scam perpetrated by “Jews and liberals”. He also feels that he has the right to refuse mental treatment, since everyone has the right to bodily autonomy, and that right is not just reserved for adults. It is, of course, true that people can do whatever they want with their own bodies, but not if they are a danger to himself and others, which he clearly is. Since withdrawing from his meds, he has threatened to rape children, and tried to convert an 11 year old Jewish child to Nazism. You try to force him to take his meds, but he still refuses. His past diagnosis includes depression, anxiety, and Asperger’s. Would you resort to institutionalization if necessary?

She let her watch Shark Week she doesn't seem scared but they showed sharks having sex literally. I have a son from a previous relationship he's 4 I wouldn't let him watch that especially not that Teen Mom crap even though his mother was a teen mom too. I especially wouldn't let him watch sharks having sex why the hell would they even put that on tv. He be too scared anyway. Also speaking of Net Geo Wild they had a commercial for a doctor he was touching a male dogs privates seriously why would she let her 5 year old watch this. It's also amazing what they can put in tv and movies these days. I think it upset a kid to see a shark eat and tare up a sea turtle or a seal in half but it don't seem bother her. Also she let's her watch violent movies with cuss words in them. I love her to death but is she a bad parent ?

Basically, either cook meals that do not leave left overs or be sure to use the left overs to not waste your food budget. It also teaches children not to waste food.

I live in a duplex and constantly hear children screaming and crying excessively loud, and sometimes I hear sounds like something being beat against a wall. One time I thought I heard a child screaming “help me” but I wasn’t sure enough to call the police, and I haven’t heard it again because they seem to be so young that they can’t talk well yet. I’ve never seen them outside (which also seems strange to me, because I’ve never heard them playing outside either and they’re home literally all the time) so I’m unable to check for physical signs of abuse such as bruising. I don’t want to cause unnecessary trouble for the family if they just happen to have loud children, and I also don’t want them to get angry at me because they would have to know someone from my apartment called the police. I definitely don’t want the blood of abused children on my hands, so I’m not sure if I should just mind my own businesss or if I should call the police next time it happens. I would try to wait for more evidence but I’m moving in two weeks and I don’t want the children to keep getting hurt if they truly are being abused. Please help, I’m only 19 and I’m not sure what to do. Side note: I’m around children pretty often as I have young nieces and nephews, so I understand the normal level of just general children loudness, but to me this sounds like children that are in pain, and they scream a lot more than the kids I’m usually around, but again I have no way to check for physical signs of abuse.
