My mother is a US permanent resident and has been living in the United States for 22 years. I was wondering if she can go on a cruise with a travel document instead of a passport. Oh were planning to go the Bahamas by the way.

  • Senior Trip. On a Cruise!?

My Senior class of 2019 have decided on a senior trip on a cruise. We re all pretty exited but I looked up the age policies. and it tells us that you cannot be allowed on a cruise if you re under 21. Us being a mixture of 17-18 year olds, this just gave our hopes up. But I was wondering. What if we take a chaperone... show more

  • My first time taking a cruise with my son. The Bahamas or Hawaii? And why?!?

Best answer: How old is your son? The cruise ships do a great job with kids' programs. Your son can go to the kids' clubs a few hours a day and you can relax by the pool. Other than that, a child will mostly enjoy going to the beach, playing in the sand, etc. If the child is under 9 or 10, I would try to drag them... show more

Other than that, a child will mostly enjoy going to the beach, playing in the sand, etc. If the child is under 9 or 10, I would try to drag them around in towns or looking at sights. There's a lot of interesting cultural stuff to do in Hawaii. If you're going to go that far, it's a waste to just spend the time sitting on a beach when you can do that in Florida or the Caribbean. For an older child, Hawaii would be more interesting.

  • Are cruises worth the money paid for it?

Best answer: I LOVE to cruise, but whether it's worth the money depends on where you go, how much you paid, and whether or not you enjoyed it. You may find an expensive cruise to the caribbean to be worth it, but someone else may not feel such a trip is worth spending much on at all. I've been on 6 cruises (4... show more

I've been on 6 cruises (4 Caribbean and 2 Mediterranean) and enjoyed the helI out of all of them, although the most recent one was over-priced (in my opinion) BUT it was a holiday cruise, over the New Year and that's part of why it was so expensive. I enjoyed the trip but it was the most expensive Caribbean cruise I've taken.

I love the convenience of taking your hotel with you, so you only have to unpack once. Your meals are included in the price of your trip (and food of some sort is available 24 hrs/day), and sometimes other extras too (such as a shipboard credit, prepaid gratuities, or free adult beverage package). There's also entertainment included in the price (several shows and various events). You typically get to visit multiple ports of call without having to haul your luggage around and check in/check out of hotels in every new city/country. There are definite bonuses, but there are some drawbacks too...such as being limited to only visiting cities close to cruise ports.
