guys, i need your help bout browsers..?

guys, i recently formated my pc, installed a new copy of xp and installed mozilla firefox, my problem is, when i typed a word in firefox address bar, for example "google" it should redirect me to www.google.com but now it always direct me to http://google/

how can i fix this issue? i know there is something wrong w/ my pc.. please help

thanks for the answer guys, im currently using firefox 2.0.0.12 (latest version) its not bout browser versions, same issue happens in IE7

im always using firefox browser, coz of it feature to automatically directing to a site, for example: just by typing yahoo in address bar, it will/should redirect you to www.yahoo.com

guys with techy knowledge, please help ^^

guys, i appreciate all your answers, the ctrl+enter helps me figuring it out,. after being directed to http://google/ i press ctrl+enter and shows me a site., http://www.akratz.com/index.php?q=

i already scanned my pc using nod32 smart security3 and kaspersky internet security7

i guess i have to reformat my pc again :<

    well, to start with try giving ctrl+enter. Once the browser goes to that location, next time try giving the name alone.

    Type google ctrl+enter the first time. Next time give google+enter.

    control + enter is one way, but you may have other stuff going on with your computer. Based on that screen-shot, you shouldn't be getting that. Run your Anti-Virus program for malware, spyware, and so forth. Clean up some of the garage on your system that can be a contributing factor in many cases.

    sometimes there is a box to check in Firefox that asks if you want firefox to auto complete web searches or something.

    old version might not have it...mine doesn't seem to.
