You just have to treat the symptoms (the hyperthyroidism) with anti-thyroid drugs. Your body can heal itself and go into remission spontaneously. But there is nothing you can do to force the process. And there is no way to predict when/if it will happen. Just plan on being on the anti-thyroid drugs for the rest of your life, and be pleasantly surprised if you achieve remission.
If you stop the drugs before all of your antibodies are gone, then you are guaranteed to have a relapse, so don't stop them without blood tests proving that all of your antibodies are gone. You need a TBII test or a TRAB for the proof.
Also, if you have radiation, you will never go into remission. The reason is unknown, but radiation makes Grave's disease worse. Yes, it will help the hyperthyroidism, but not the cause of the hyperthyroidism - the Graves disease. It makes Grave's disease worse for some reason.
