The Father (God above us), the Spirit (God -his prompting- in us), the Son (God with us) make up the trinity. The Son - Jesus - came down and was concieved through a virgins womb ( a miraculous act in itself that only the power of God could perform) so that we could be saved and redeemed of the bondage sin placed upon creation. That which I am sure you have read. But you see, it HAD to be Jesus. Because Jesus was divine (holy, of God). He never sinned, for God cannot sin. And yet he took all the burden and sins and sorrows of the world of past, present and future and paid the price. So we that are not divine, we that are created by God (the Father), could have a relationship with Him. And learn about what that looks like, tastes like. And it is natural that you would have questions about your faith and want to learn more about the word and what God is teaching you.
John 1:1 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:14 - And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
John 10:30 - I and [my] Father are one.
Isaiah 9:6 - For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
John 20:28 - And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
I encourage you, no matter what any of the above people say, to talk to your Pastor about the concept of the trinity, to pray about it, and pour over the word. God will reveal Himself more and more to you through His Holy Spirit - God that is in us, in this way, allowing you to learn more about who God really is, and who you are called to be as a believer. The very definition of Christian, is to be a follower of Jesus Christ. One of many titles he has. Prince of Peace, Lord of Lords, King of Kings, IMMANUEL- which means "God with us".
This is one of my favourite preachers, and he really knows the word of God. I hope you get something from it.
