Because of the jet stream , 3 to 7 days temperature cycles ARE normal and the just stream MOVES north and south relative to the surface while just stream rotates around the earth because Earth AND the atmosphere is rotating d to. . I've seen experienced the temperature dropping more than 60 degrees Fahrenheit in less than an hour in Early march, ironically on my birth day form 93 degrees f to 28 degrees F in central Oklahoma. I've observed the Same thing in greater New Orleans with temperature drop of more than 20 degrees degrees F in less than half an hour..
Have you ever wondered WHY Texas and Oklahoma usually have tornadoes in in April and May and June while Minnesota and Canada have tornadoes in July and August. It's because the jet stream MOVES north to south relative to Earth's surface while blowing west to east.. There's also Dixie Tornado Alley.
Sometimes a cold front that central Oklahoma gets never gets to New Orleans because it moves southeast fast enough that it never gets that far south. Also , since New Orleans is further south than the greater Oklahoma City area, (Yes i DO mean greater Oklahoma city, including Moore, OK), being close to LARGE bodies of water ODES effect the Temperature and relative humidity levels.. i used think if the Relative humidity in new Orleans was below 90% something was wrong.
