There are only so many hours available in every day. Some of these must be spent eating, sleeping, traveling to and from obligations, etc. There is not enough time to do the necessary work for 10 courses in a single semester and survive as a living being. No college is going to allow any student to take 10 courses in a semester - most will limit you to 6 or 7, 8 with special permission. And there is no need to take 10 courses per semester, an entire engineering education is comprised of less than 50 courses. If you are as intelligent as you say (not likely), you will graduate in 7 semesters, a few of which will require a heavy workload. More likely you will take 8 or 9 semesters.
If you were the kind of rare genius who could do all of this with minimal studying, you wouldn't be taking a huge course load. You'd be on a special track, taking exams to test out of prerequisite courses and studying independently. These people are extremely rare, you are not one of them.
