If humans have 23 chromosomes in each somatic cell, then how do we only have 46 chromosomes in all, done we have millions of cells?

this just got so confusing! so how many sex cells do we have? Is there 1 egg cell and 1 sperm cell and in both of those sex cells there are 23 chromosomes which is 1 set? And the other 2 sets of chromosomes are in the somatic cells throughout our body? Then they re 22 autosomes? So is it 1 set of 22 autosome... show more this just got so confusing! so how many sex cells do we have?
