Your daughter is being bullied or mistreated by someone, or several people. Either that, or she's suffering from a medical problem such as depression. She needs a full medical evaluation, including a mental health evaluation, ASAP. And meanwhile, you need to have a serious discussion with your daughter's teacher and the school principal, and let them both know that something is wrong. ASK for their help with your daughter. Try to find out if either of them have noticed anything. If your daughter is on social media, you need to check her accounts carefully for evidence that she's being cyber bullied.
Refusal to go to school, crying spells, avoidance behavior- these are all major red flags and indications that something is wrong with your daughter. You and your wife also need to pay attention to things in your OWN lives which could be causing your daughter stress. Is your marriage in good shape? Has your daughter experienced any kind of trauma at home lately, such as the death of a family member or pet? Is money a problem in your family? Is someone sick with a serious illness, like a grandparent, and could your daughter be scared and upset because of that? It will take time to find the answers to all of these questions, but for your daughter's sake, you need to do this so you can get to the bottom of whatever is causing her behavior.
