Well, I wish I could make people understand that pesticides are going to be more dangerous than any spider in your home. You know it is in there somewhere so bites are very easy to avoid. I understand your fears. Don't suppose I could convince you that spider is more your friend than a threat. Like Pearl, I have been dealing with blood sucking bedbugs a couple weeks and wish I had a few spiders around to deal with them. Likely, I will have to replace my bed.
You could remove item at a time from the cupboard, if you spot the spider,just shoo it aside and deal with it, trust me,it will try to avoid and run from you. Possible the spider is long gone for now.
If you must spray, don't just hose down everything, A quick shot hitting the spider will do the job. Follow directions,most OTC pesticides are safe enough. Doubt it would mean tossing anything.
A mix of water and dish soap in a spray bottle will kill spiders too, not instant,but they die.
Non toxic, might leave a harmless film worst case.
