Found this in a hotel. Bedbug or stink bug?
Is this a bed bug

These are called shield bugs, AKA stink bugs, totally harmless but an agricultural pest in numbers.
Might be the marmorated stink bug, an invasive species where I live.
Bedbugs are smaller and more oval and they can smell worse if squished.
Actually, these are edible, but taste a bit like they smell, a little chocolate and palatable.

Brown marmorated stink bug. Squash it and you will be in no doubt, unless you are one of the lucky people who can't smell them. Bedbugs are MUCH smaller, About the size of coarsely-ground pepper.

Unfortunately I'm an expert on bedbugs. Somewhere we picked them up in a hotel and now they are refusing to leave. They are generally about the size and shape of an apple seed but they are really hard to find. I would guess that bug is at least 10 times too big to be a bedbug. Sometimes you get to see their exoskeleton but I have only found a couple and my wife and I have been bit many times each. They are way worse than mosquito bites and itch for much longer
