does taking pain pills on an empty stomach make the meds work faster?
I am quitting coffee but am having withdrawal headaches when I wake up in the morning
its just over the counter pain meds

Taking any pain meds (even OTC pain meds) on an empty stomach usually just makes you sick at your stomach. It won't make the pain meds work any faster, because you'll probably just vomit them up.

Yes- food will delay absorption of the medication.

Tylenol is ok on an empty stomach, ibuprofen (Motrin) is not

Yup, They will be absorbed into the body faster thus working quicker.

Yes, but you would have more side effects...stomach issues to put it nicely. Might want to wean yourself off coffee too.

Read the instructions. Some drugs are intended for slow release, to be effective.

Maybe you should check the instructions on the package. Sometimes you have to take pills with or just after food, or it might be enough to take them with a glass of water. When it comes to meds, it's best to do what the experts say.
