Where is the source of this quote: "The popular quote: "The journey is better than the inn."?

    La Numancia

    by Miguel de Cervantes

What Cervantes actually said was, "El viaje es siempre mejor que la posada,” the verbatim meaning for which is "The voyage is always better than the hostal."  In Spain, "hostal" is actually the English word for "posada," which is a kind of lodging in Spain that is cheaper than hotels and that, along with having sleep accommodations, also have a bar, restaurant, or cafeteria where drinks and food are sold to guests and locals alike.

I have come across another line: El camino es siempre mejor que la posada. But no proper source.
