Is it possible to be good without God?

Just as it is possible to be evil with god.

If you cannot be good without god then there is no free will. All that is said about god giving man free will is false and, therefore, god is a false god.
If you can be good without god, then it is not god that makes you good, it is in your own nature to be good. And there are many good people who are without god.

"Good" requires a standard with which to measure goodness.
We know that a foot length is 12 inches, because certain authorities that people use to establish that standard say that a foot equals 12 inches, and even what an inch equals.
God, our Creator, does exist, because things - matter, energy, forces, time, space and life - exist, and because they wouldn't exist unless something or Someone caused them to exist. Some-THING is without either intelligence, power, or purpose; Some-ONE does.
God's standard of good and evil is not accepted by everyone, which is the reason why this system of no standard for these important concepts is the cause of the troubles in the world.
So, since God sets the standard, without Him, there is no universal good or evil, until we individually choose to accept His, through his Son Jesus.
4 The Rock, perfect is his activity,
For all his ways are justice.
A God of faithfulness who is never unjust;
Righteous and upright is he.
5 For Jehovah is good;
His loyal love endures forever,
And his faithfulness through all generations.
18 Jesus said to him: “Why do you call me good? Nobody is good except one, God.'

Of course it is, just as it is possible for people with God to do bad things. God has absolutely nothing to do with your morality and how you treat others, if he did you would never have a corrupt or bad priest, father, vicar etc and there are an abundance of them.Source(s): Common sense.

Sure, in some ways. Many atheists are rather good people.

The Bible says that you and I and everyone are sinners. So we are not good. The Lord Jesus Christ is God and He is good. Here is the truth: Death leads to immediate heaven or hell. The only way to have eternal life, the only way to be in heaven and avoid hell, is by believing in the Lord Jesus Christ for eternal life (John 6:47). It is that simple and that easy. It is too late to be saved after death. Jesus is God and Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood to pay for all of our sins in full, and then Jesus resurrected from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Nothing else pays for our sins, not works from us or anything else, and Jesus already paid for our sins with His death and blood. You cannot add any works to getting into heaven (Romans 4:5)..

Mankind is inherently a good creature for we were made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27)!
However after Adam sinned we became "DEAD spirits" (Romans 5:12-14; I Corinthians 15:21-22)
"And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually" (Genesis 6:5)
"THE FLOOD" (Genesis 6:13)!
BUT God provided "THE WAY" (John 14:6) for "evil man" to "join back to His Spirit" (I Corinthians 6:17) with Holy Spirit baptism (Acts 1:5; 8)!
Unless one is Holy Spirit baptized "All his righteousnesses are as filthy rags" (Isaiah 64:6)!
"Pure RELIGION [Man doing and not the gospel of Christ; Romans 1:16] and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world" (James 1:27)!

Absolutely. Morality (or what is 'good') is defined by the society in which a person lives during the time that they live there. A specific system of religious belief cannot claim sole ownership of morality.
