Simple sentences has one independent clause. Independent clause (malayang sugnay) contains subject (paksa), verb (pandiwa), and a complete thought.

Compound sentences has 2 independent clauses. They are joined by coordinating conjunctions (for, and, nor, but, yet, so), conjunctive adverbs (indeed, unless, if, because), or a semicolon (;) alone.

Complex sentence has 1 dependent clause joined to a dependent clause. You can see a subordinating conjunction at the start of sentence or a relative pronoun (who, whom, which, whose, that) at the middle.

Dependent clause contains subject and a verb. But you'll feel that thought is incomplete.

Compound-Complex has two independent clauses joined two one or more dependent clauses.
