She can go, if she misses a court date she loses the case

In a CIVIL lawsuit, you are under ZERO restrictions beyond not hiding or disposing of assets that could be used to satisfy any settlement.

That said, if you miss the court date, you generally lose by default and the other party gets everything they asked for.

She can go on a trip, yes.

SSI (supplemental security income) is a federal welfare program.  If she wants to go on a vacation they couldn't care less.

As fair as the lawsuit is concerned, as long as she appears in court when she is supposed to, why not?  Unless there has been a court order for her not to leave the area, of course.

    What is the problem?

She can do anything she wants as long as she shows up in court, or the judge will probably just rule against her.

She is either INVOLVED in a lawsuit or "someone is TRYING to sue her."

Either way, yes, she should take her SSI and go on vacation on taxpayer money.

There's a legal phrase: "you snooze, you lose," or in Latin, "tu perdis, snoozer." Look up the words you don't know.

As long as she shows up for court, it's no big deal. If it's a civil case and she doesn't show up, she just loses the case.

Of course she can go on a trip.

    ?????

By the way, a chick is a helpless chicken that has not yet reached maturity.    It's an insult.   If you insist on calling a woman a "chick" you might as well wear a sign that says, "I'm a rude ignorant sexist who needs a dictionary".
